it gives me very late 70s/early 80s medieval fantasy metal vibes lol. But also the 80s big arena rock/pop. Like if Dio wrote the Neverending Story song, I don’t know why that’s what came to mind but it did lol
I'm digging this a lot. I was pretty warm on Impera. I generally really enjoy at least the singles from each album but im digging this as a whole maybe the most since Meliora.
Man this is the one I would hope for. So bad, but so rad. haha! Also love how he cranked up the Riffometer on this album. Holy shit there's some rad guitar work here.
I’m not saying Marks of the Evil One is about Trump and his supporters, but I’m not saying it’s not about them either
A few weeks in and I think it’s JUST behind Impera for me, but only slightly. The highs are really high and there aren’t any lows. Wildly catchy and I must say I appreciate how “uplifting” some of this sounds, particularly Cenotaph and Excelsis. Very excited to hear these live.
Went to the tour opener in Baltimore and it was just incredible, they're a can't-miss band for me by now
Late answer but it was really fucking cool, it was amazing to see the arena actually completely dark when the lights went out before they came on instead of the normal sea of recording phones that you usually see
Saw them last night. I now think every concert should be a phone free experience. There was so much energy and interaction and presence. Obviously, it helps when they kill it live (and they REALLY did) but even something like everyone clapping along without juggling a device was really cool. Best live show I’ve seen all year.
Just got back from the tour in Austin. Gonna echo the sentiment that the no cell phone policy was incredible and made for such a fun experience. I can't remember the last time I watched a band play live without seeing it through a million phone screens in front of me. Band killed it too, maybe my favorite live performance in a really long time. All of the visuals on stage are insane too.
Yeah, this tour was unreal. Great production, and Tobias sounds especially great. I think the half mask was a great change that made him sound even better love. Truly great show.
