Nothing against ScarJo but making the Major white was just unnecessary. The manga and anime are inherently Japanese. I don't really understand this at all.

This looks really really pretty, but will likely be bad. The casting blows my mind a lot.

 

I kinda hate how much I love the trailer. Aesthetic is seriously off the charts. Like a cyberpunk dreamland. Still can't give a pass to ScarJo as Major Kusanagi (despite the fact that she is a great actress) in a world where Rinko Kikuchi exists.

They have parts of this trailer interrupting ads before Doctor Strange. it's really fucking cool.

 

Seeing as the whitewashing in this is so blatant, how many people here are going to see it in theatre? I'd be pretty excited for this if it wasn't for the casting

 

Also when will studios get tired of cover songs in trailers

Hate to say it, trailer looked awesome. Saw Doctor Strange this weekend which was awesome too, but the ancient one controversy along with the trailer for The Great Wall beforehand.... now this... I don't think it's ever been so blatant.

 

All three of them together was painful

 

This movie seriously looks cooler and cooler with every trailer.

 

It really does. Much more excited for this than I expected to be.

I hate rooting against a big movie with a female lead (since movie producers are idiots), but, well... y'know. Whiteness and such.

 

This could have been a great platform for an upcoming Asian actress but of course not
