I didn't get the chance to see this in theaters so I just bought it on iTunes. I've heard the alternate ending Jordan originally wanted was pulled from the theatrical release. Should I watch the alternate ending for the first time seeing the movie or should I stick with the original?

Wait, is "get in" some type of urban dictionary phrase? I just read it as cringey wordplay.

I haven't bought a movie in forever, but I just pre-ordered the Blu Ray.

I can't believe this is already coming out on blu-ray soon. You can still find it playing in some theaters out there. Just speaks volumes about the film's quality.

Today I learned that Jordan Peele played a clown in the I Write Sins Not Tragedies video.

Right at the time stamp I have on the video, he's the sad clown on the center-left of the screen.

Awesome news but hopefully he's not done with comedy, he's way too good to abandon the genre

    I doubt it though

Dear god. Finally caught this last night. As a horror buff it had been eating away at my soul that I missed this in theaters. This film is maybe the most fruitful my "avoid trailers and any details at all costs" strategy has proven, as I went in knowing only that it was Peele's brainchild and touched on racism.

I loved loved loved it. Buying the Bluray for the alternate ending/to rewatch with commentary. The only thing I "called" was that Chris would use the cotton from the arm of the chair to block the final stage of hypnosis. I'm not one to audibly react to a movie that often, but I let out a bonafide "NO NO NO!" when what we believe to be a cop car shows up at the end. What a twist on the "everything's okay now" trope.

Warms my heart that a movie with this tone and unknown cast struck gold with audiences, critics, and box offices. Exciting stuff. Must. Watch. Again.

Watched it last night. I really like the cinematography in this, especially the opening scene. Didn't match the hype everyone had been telling me. It was a good psychological thriller, though.

I should add that I watched it with my roommate who is black, so seeing him cringe at all the instances of white people overcompensating in their attempts to communicate with Chris made it all that much better lol. He also got out of a 4 year interracial relationship last year, so his reactions throughout were just an excellent companion piece

Just watched the alternate ending this morning. Sheesh. That would have been hard to overcome if I had seen that ending in the theater.

  22. Can someone give me the rundown and spoiler alert the alternate ending for me?

There's also a second alternate ending he didn't film. I'm glad he didn't do that one because it felt a little predictable when I heard it. In this one, Rod finds Chris wandering the neighborhood looking through a window. When Rod approaches him, Chris turns to him with a robotic smile and says "I'm sure I do not know who you are referring to." So in the end he would have gotten lobotomized.

In the alternate ending that was filmed, the police who show up are actual white police officers. Chris is arrested. Rod later visits Chris in prison and asks him for any information he can give him to help build a defense. Chris is reluctant because he knows his chances and simply says that he got them. Then he's led away back to his cell where, presumably, he will spend the rest of his life.

So yeah, I'm glad we got the ending we did.
