It’s a bummer Black Midi broke up but I feel like we’re gona get a bunch of awesome records from all of them

 

Morgan Simpson is one of the best contemporary drummers and will fucking make his mark, bm or no bm

 

I'm into this, it's not quite bm but it's got that energy.

Yeah, this is really good. Saw someone say it's like Black Midi playing Steely Dan songs and I can't not hear it.

 

really loving this and am very excited to see him in January

 

I feel like a square maybe but I don't get this at all outside of how ridiculously good the instrumentation is. Lyrically offputting and with a glossiness and overall sound/arrangements that makes it sound like the nerdiest 70s record there is - truly baffles me that this is cool. I wasn't a huge BM guy to begin with, but it is rare that I feel this out of touch with an album making waves in the alternative/indie universe.

 

yeah this sadly completely missed me. maybe that will change. astounding technical feats still abound to be sure but I found it mostly unenjoyable, and yeah lyrically off putting I would agree with even though that’s the point

 

I think this is amazing. Maybe the best first listen of an album I've had all year.

 

I really liked this and thought the uncomfoetable lyricism was used pretty well. It did affect what songs I want to come on shuffle tho.

 

I am still loving this album, I can’t believe he is only 25 years old.

 

One of the horniest albums ever, for sure.

 

I Got Greeped

 

Just found this and wow it is unlike almost anything I’ve ever heard. Fascinating stuff and the drumming is fucking nuts.

 

I am really trying with this one but idk if I can do it. Holy Holy sounds like Lin Manuel Miranda

 

Hahahaha I like the song, but you’re not wrong. I’m now imagining a washed up LMM creeping people out at the bar.

 

I hated it all haha, tough to get through. A couple bright spots, I guess

 

Seeing Mr. Greep tonight, and with NNAMDI opening is even better!

 

truly think holy holy is one of the worst songs i’ve ever heard. shockingly bad.
