What makes a notification pop up? I post in the video game thread and then shortly after I get many notifications that someone posted in there. If I check it several hours later, there's new posts, but no notifications. Is there a time limit or something?
Yes. So you don't get spammed with a million notifications. It resets when you visit the thread. So you know if someone replies soon after you.
@Jason Tate I'm just curious how you like using WordPress? I personally don't do a whole lot of blogging, but I always found myself doing more when not using WordPress. I feel like the author interface actually discouraged me from wanting to write posts, while using other more cleaner UI like on Tumblr or Ghost / Medium actually motivated me to post more.
If I'm ever writing anything more long-form, I don't write in the browser no matter what platform I'd be using ... I'd be writing in, probably, Textmate since it's set up exactly how I want for writing. I almost always write longer pieces in text files and then publish once I've gotten it to the spot I want. As for quick news posts, WordPress is really great and very customizable.
@Jason Tate any chance of making the text formatting options (bold, italics, etc) being visible on mobile while holding your device in portrait mode, particularly during a quick reply? It's a very minor gripe (says something that it's my only complaint about using this forum lol), but I hate having to turn my iPhone to the side just to format one word, you know? Not sure if that's by design or whatnot, just asking.
Hi, I'm looking for an old AP article that was a track by track interview with Phil Bozeman of Whitechapel. Would really love to read it, any chance there's a way to find it? It was June of 2012.
@Jason Tate, I quoted someone in another thread, and started out writing a reply. I decided not to post my reply, but now I can't remove it from the reply box. It is there any time I visit that particular thread. I've tried deleting it and leaving the page, I've tried some other things...nothing has worked. Aside from logging out and logging back in, which I would assume would fix the issue, is there any way for me to discard my reply? Are there plans for a Discard or Cancel Reply button?
Google Chrome doesn't like this site's security. I don't have any issue accessing through Firefox, but Chrome has the read cross through the "Https" in the web address says "This site has a weak security configuration" - Probably just a Chrome thing, but just thought I'd bring it to your attention.
You must have tweaked something on your end. Nothing is wrong with our certificate or setup, I double checked. Clear the cache again and refresh.
