Anyone else receive an email from their student loan servicer? No interest for 60 days but payment remains the same. Can apply for “emergency forbearance” for 60 days. A lot different than the “it will be treated as if you made a payment” language that was going around before. Mildly helpful but ultimately pretty weak. Will be a useful pause button but does almost nothing for the debt problem overall. I’ll probably still make the payment.

 

My friend who I believe has libertarian views asked me if I even know what the Don't Tread on Me saying means after I posted this.

Wait no.....that's not right. My husbands are fully suspended for 6 months. He just checked. I would contact them...don't they need to adhere to what the fed government decided?

I also have Fedloan and haven’t heard shit. I already had April payment scheduled so I’m still gonna make that but very curious about how this is supposed to work.

 

AES is his service. It doesn't count for private loans just Federal loans btw. I'm guessing since you mentioned FedLoan they are Federal loans tho???

 

Yeah it’s federal loans. I’ll have to take a look at the law and figure out what’s going on.

 

I just got it this morning, I am trying to copy and past the link in the email for you but it’s locked for some reason lol. I hate this servicer so much

 

So I got up at the ass crack of dawn and hit Walmart & my local grocery right when they opened.

walmart first and right when I walked in there were two employees with generic brand paper towels, toilet paper, Clorox wipes and spray and rubbing alcohol and peroxide.

TP & PT were only one either or. I got paper towels, Clorox wipes and a small thing of 50% isorpropyl alc. luckily I still have some 99% I can mix it with.

grocery store was getting crowded 20mins after they opened. I was able to get bounty paper towels there and a few grocery items. The amount of people wearing masks & gloves in the grocery store freaked me the fuck out.

Today is my exposure day I guess so I’m planning on hitting the hardware store and local meat market this afternoon. Wish me luck.

Unfortunately, I think there is going to be a lot of blood on Trump's hands before this situation is over. Much more than anyone is even saying yet at this point. I think the approval rating bump is due to the phenomenon that most leaders get an initial bump in approval rating at the start of a major crisis.

I find the idea that a large number of Americans can look at how he is handling this situation and not only not be horrified by it but to actually be happy and pleased completely and utterly impossible to wrap my head around. I am starting to think I just have too much faith in humanity.
