Maybe there is already a thread for this somewhere else, but it seems like there is a marked absence of political music today. I remember the music scene being far more political back in the Bush days, but it seems like there is very little pushback today. Where are the Rock Against Trump compilations? Where are bands like Rise Against, Green Day, Refused, Anti-Flag, Rage Against the Machine? There used to be such a powerful resistance in the music scene, and that seems to have gone away, despite the fact that things are arguably much worse now than they were in 2003. I think now more than ever we need to see anger and resistance in music. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places?
