In my experience, stuff in the months prior to the election is mostly just random, trying to sparse things out and also spread knowledge about the candidate. Then as Election Day gets closer, more emphasis is placed on the people who we know are undecided, and our job becomes more about making them come down as either positive or negative. If someone is a hard negative then you should just ignore them entirely - don’t waste your time on a lost cause. Then with GOTV week it’s almost solely focused on the positives - asking if they still support the candidate, if so have they already voted, if not then do they know when they will. Idk how effective it is, but organizers emphasize asking (1) if they know where exactly their voting place is (and looking it up for them if they don’t), (2) when they plan on voting, and (3) if they have transportation (both campaigns I’ve worked on have organized drivers to take people to/from their polling places

@Everyone - if you want a campaign to stop contacting you, the best way is to just give them a hardline answer of yes/no support. If the campaign is even somewhat competent then they should mark you down and move on

The answer to his question is early voting doesn’t really tell us anything about Election Day outcomes (according to all the election nerds on twitter anyway)...but *puts on x files theme* I want to believe.

God it would be great to see youth turnout blow away expectations while also seeing the suburban vote flee Republicans in greater numbers than polls are showing.

I canvass. Everything I've done this year has been focused on the race in the House in my district and we've been at it for a couple of months.

    “Free gift.”

Marco is so used to the idea of quid pro quo with lobbyists he forgets that gifts are free by definition.

I'm from New York. No, not the city.

My friend works at a federal building in Austin and found this this morning.
