Is it truly random when you’re knocking? Or are you only targeting likely voters? Do people ever yell at you?

 

The two times I’ve gone out this cycle were for GOTV. We get a list of addresses and names that are supposed to belong to registered Democrats or people who have voted in the democratic primary. So we just knock on the door and ask if they have voted, etc.

In the two times I’ve went recently, I’ve only had like 2 or 3 interactions I would deem as hostile.

The most hostile was an older woman who answered the door. The name we were given was for a man, who was her husband, but she went off when she saw that we were wearing a shirt for Underwood.

At one point she screamed at us for ignoring her “No soliciting” sign. I tried to explain that we weren’t selling anything and thus weren’t soliciting. She threatens to sick her dog on us.

But the sizable portion were friendly. Even when we encountered people who were going to vote Republican.
