I can't believe this is something that's being debated ... and was endorsed by the President of god damn country today ... I just .... I'm having a really fucking hard time with this one.

 

my wife and sister were teachers for years. sister now works from home. but my wife started her masters last fall to be a school counselor in a few years with the plan being that she would work at the school where my kids would attend since they would be starting elementary school at that time. this is frightening.

I won't enroll my kids in a school where the teachers are armed. wont happen. I'll go live in a cabin in the woods before I allow that.

my brother is also a football coach. in a rural town outside of dallas.

it's very scary.

Revisiting this article Dom sent me a while ago. My only critique of it, besides that it constantly uses words like "asymptotically," "prefigures," and "Deleuze’s sensational/experiential model," is that its not called "It's Marxist To Like The Grateful Dead, And You Are A Reactionary If You Do Not Like Them."

So I looked up "school shootings are not as important as the wall". Its the headline of a piece being critical of SHS's handling of school shootings. Seems like the high ranking is the result of that headline getting spread around.

That being said, I feel like it still shows a flaw in google's ranking algorithms. And doesn't explain the other ones.

 

Yeah one of the tweet replies to the one I posted mentioned that it was a name of an article which caused it to rise up in the algorithm. Still makes me cringe though, so much.
