@lightning13 , the reason people don't talk about sharia law is because it is a dog whistle, like urban crime, that is intended to reinforce prejudice against a particular group.

Didn't the bill have like 17% approval from Americans?

Not sure how blaming its failure on our political opponents is a good strategy...

 

If your father was attacked by black men, should we adopt the law and order discourse that assists in criminalizing that group of people because he has a genuine concern about being assaulted? I'm not being dismissive, but our approach should be to upend that sort of discourse, not reinforce it.

 

We have all the control of government but yeah this will fly.

So Trump saying the best thing to do now is to just let Obamacare explode is basically saying "Let's let everyone go bankrupt and they'll see the mistake they made". I think the logical thing to do would be to work together to improve Obamacare, but logic in the White House hasn't been around since January
