How much does the average abortion cost?

 

Dear diary,

Today I discussed the logistics of performing half an abortion with my friends

 

I think it depends on where you live but the cheapest my sister found where she didn't have to waste gas by driving far away was $850. Most people can't afford it.

 

In New York State, it was around five hundred dollars.

 

They wonder why there are so many unwanted kids. It's ridiculous.

 

That's semi reasonable compared to other medical costs, but yeah obviously still a fair bit of money

 

I can only think of a gross answer involving a headless fetus

 

That's the picture that flashed into my brain.

 

It'd probably never happend due to pro-life paranoia but it makes more sense economically for the government to pay for it then force unwanted kids into foster homes or homes that can't support them.

 

Two years ago my boyfriend at the time knocked me up. when I had my doctor's appointment to "discuss my options", turns out I had a miscarriage. When she told me I burst into tears and she was consoling me, but I was like "no these are happy tears now I don't have to pay for an abortion"

I think the more conservative places you go, the higher the price is. New York State tends to be more liberal, so it can be cheaper. It'd be great if they got rid of the Hyde Amendment and allow the government to cover abortion.

 

Yeah. My main issue with pro lifers is they fight so hard for the fetus to be born but after that they don't give a fuck about what happens to them. It's not right. I ALSO think insurance should cover abortions as well.

 

That was my thought too. I haven't looked at Texas prices but I'm sure they're expensive. And fun fact who owns the largest abortion clinics in the state? The Perry family.
