That's well and good, but I rarely seen him being problematic tied to the criticism. Corny is the emphasis of a lot of critique.

Not liking him because he says some awful things is certainly more valid.

Is it me or has AV Club gotten worse, since The Onion sold a stake to Univision? Part of their appeal was the coverage of massive amount of television shows and not reducing pop culture to simplified memes/viral videos. Sigh. Capitalism.

I noticed that and read the message the editor posted. The daily overage itself seems to have gotten worse along with it.

all of them are saying he was banned for being gay which isn't the case at all.

 

They still have good content, but more recently it seems to take less of a precedent over their crappier stuff. That and their news posts in particular usually have a very snarky, above-it-all tone that really grates on me. It's something that probably applies to a lot of sites/magazines/whatever over time unfortunately

 

My friend who adopted a kid with cerebral palsy with his partner finally proposed tonight! I'm so happy they've been together for a little over 10 years. I'm a groomsman and get to wear a tux. It's going to be hilarious but that's what they want!

 

Cracked is a site that I feel bad for spending so much time on, but I'm a sucker for their lists. In terms of film/tv criticism, I don't read AV Club anymore unless it's a show not covered by someone else. Generally, Slant Magazine, Film Comment and Reverse Shot have the best writing about entertainment.

Have yet to find a good music criticism site
