I almost started sweating walking from my car to my office yesterday.

 

yeah been in new york in late july (~40 degree heatwave) and orlando every summer for like 6 years. i love warm weather but not when I'm working or have places to be so being in the us in summer is grand

 

It's 30 Celsius here. I'm wearing jeans. Fuck you, sun.

 

yeah this is how i feel. just heard on the radio that the high today is 30 and the wind has basically stopped.

i am also wearing jeans, my legs are actually cooking

I've got a freelance gig putting together one day itineraries around Italy for really decent money as travel writing goes. On the one hand, it's super easy and I love getting to write about Italy. But on the other hand, writing about a place I lived for over nine months at a time of life that was so much greater for me personally (esp. regarding my depression, let alone economic/monetary state of my family) is really messing with me mentally. It's honestly how crazy how fast life can change on you.

 

I should write one of those for Afghanistan.

 

They're hiring for the Kandahar airport locally for some reason. But they're trying to pass it off as if the job is at the Knoxville airport, not 6000 miles away, so they've hidden the fact it's in Afghanistan until almost the last sentence of the job posting.

 

Haha. That's awesome. Kandahar is actually on of the few places I never visited. Apparently they had a Chili's there or something.

 

I'm mid vacation/staycation currently but plan on going somewhere tomorrow through possibly early Friday....... But I can't decide where. I hope this doesn't turn out to be one of those "oh well i guess I'll go see what they have on sale at the TJ Maxx in Birmingham" type thing. Instead of actually doing something cool and all....

 

I just got into a shouting match with my boss.

 

haven't posted much in the past week and a half or so, but i'm back from vegas and back on chorus!

 

Been sitting at the dealership for 2.5 hours. Good times.

 

How's Vegas? I've always wanted to visit.

 

we had fun! we got an awesome suite at the venetian with an amazing view of the strip, so that was nice. mostly did a lot of walking and eating. none of us are big gamblers so we only played a little bit here and there.

 

I want to go to Vegas one day mainly for Britney and Mariah, I don't drink and wouldn't gamble that much so that should be interesting

 

An eating and music-themed Vegas trip sounds fantastic.
