FWB I understand as long as it's understood to be a temporary thing. Even then I'm the type to get feelings for the other person

Poly I don't connect with because I feel like I'd need the emotional support that comes from having a single reciprocating partner

 

There's one person I feel like if I actually grew a pair and asked her out, she and I could date and be a thing. My issue is that she's a great person and I don't feel like I'm good enough for her at this point in my life, so I hold myself back. It sucks because I deep down really do care about her.

 

I just don't think I can date anymore, I think that time is over and this is just how things are supposed to be I guess

 

i could never be anything but monogamous. i have a hard enough time trusting / connecting with one person at a time let alone trying a goddamn magic trick by balancing more people around.

 

I'm great at trust and probably to a fault

 

here, here. this is my life. i'm like, "well, i guess i'll just read, write, work and play with the dogs" (note: actual dogs, not slang for friends or drugs or something)

 

I'm just like, yeah I think I'm an interesting person or whatever but I still do have Asperger's and do awful with social interactions, and I am also awful at having dating be from an online source, I do have 2 kids and am close friends with their mother, I do have a desire to do something in entertainment, I just don't see myself finding anyone that will be compatible with all of those factors at once.

 

i'm getting very confused about what thread I'm in. this seems like quality date/relationship discussion and it ain't in that thread.

 

It's fourth of july and we're all drinking too much to be in the drunk thread or the relationships thread

Eh. Ostensibly, I was invited to this place because someone was interested. Last night was nice and we cuddled, but today was composed of binge drinking and advances that I declined as result. It's for the best.

 

i'm not drunk. nor have i been drinking.

all i did today was go for a run, read and play with the dogs.


like i said, this is my life lol

I kinda wanna go for a run but I've been drinking at home and it's also storming now so that's a horrible idea

I don't want to but it feels like I should because I just cannot succeed at initiation of anything whatsoever, my success rate of ever initiating interest is 1/infinity.

 

i certainly don't mind my life. i love it. but sometimes i take it for granted since it's literally all i have day in day out. total first world problems for sure.

 

My day was trash. Had to work all day and I found out this morning that my grandpa, whom has been battling cancer for years, has taken a bad turn and isn't doing well at all. He's very weak and he can't walk. He's going through tests and he has an MRI tomorrow but I just feel horrible. He reached out to me a bunch in the past to come visit him and now in the state he's in, he could die soon. I feel a lot of regret, I feel selfish not using my time to spend it with him. Life is trash.

 

With twenty to thirty somethings, most topics devolve into existential crises, romantic crises or career anxieties. Also, recommendations of Netflix shows.

I don't drink. Sometimes my fingers and mind trip each other up.

 

I understand that feeling a lot...I used to go to my granny and grandpa's at least once a month, and I spent all my time with granny. Then later in life I discovered my grandpa had cancer, but didn't think anything of it because I thought he'd kick its ass and everything would be okay, and I finally spent time with him on his last day and I just felt miserable for the exact same reason. I didn't spend nearly enough time with him. But take solace in the fact that no matter how much time was spent, I'm sure he enjoyed every second and is so happy about who you are. I'm sure he understands how hard it is to be there often, and he appreciates all the time he gets to have with you while understanding that.

 

I feel you, I can't pick up vibes at all

 

I feel like I can't even create vibes haha, like I'm as clueless as it comes. I don't know how to "flirt" or whatever or read signs or even begin a conversation with someone I've never met. It's awful.

 

That really means alot to read that, thanks man. I'm going to try to see him at the hospital tomorrow.

 

I mean, Donald Trump is married, so there is always hope.

 

I'm very good at picking up vibes but in little ways. Like body language, tone of voice, the overall attitude of the person. Even like written words and texts, I can like analyze like the structure of a sentence and know exactly how someone is feeling vibe wise. I'm too aware for my own good.
