My tire made a sound as I was driving home today (was just due to bad roads) and I flipped out thinking that's what happened.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with the story about them and Kraftwerk but I'll tell it here because it is amusing. Okay, so Kraftwerk is well known for being very reclusive. Chris wanted to use the melody for Computer Love in one of their songs off X&Y if I remember right, so he sent the band a letter asking for their permission through Kraftwerk's lawyers. Several weeks later, he got a handwritten note that just said "Yes".

In my experience, that never ends well.

 

I've chosen to just accept that in my scenario it'll never happen even though we're completely compatible in every way and maybe that's half the reason I'm so sad half the time

 

Also, poly people weird me out. Like I get why people do it and I have nothing against it but most people I've met who do that are really odd/off-putting people. In my own opinion, many of them are also unattractive.

 

I've met a lot of wonderful, attractive people who choose polygamy. But I guess that's all just happenstance, on both sides. People will always be people.

I wish I knew what advice to give in this scenario because I wanna encourage you and also don't wanna encourage any kind of destruction to his situation but I will say that you shouldn't feel like a poo and that you never know what could happen

 

You've must of met a better crowd than I have then, people up here doing it here really aren't the best looking. Maybe it's just St. Louis though

 

I think I'm secretly very traditional when it comes to relationships. Not in a sexist way of course, just in an institutional monogamy way

 

That's how I feel as well

 

same, even with FWB type stuff or just hooking up or one night stands I just don't get it, but I'm also try not to shame unless the situation is harmful

FWB deals can work, as long as you don't get too attached. Cliche to say but it's the honest truth.

 

This can be true of much of the poly community. My first outing with some local Baltimore folks consisted of mostly older, white folks, who, for one reason or another, were glistening and/or had orange tans. I think it has something to do with a total investment in constructing one's identity around their libidos. Anyway, I'm not one of those weirdos. Ha.

 

I'm not the fwb type or the commitment type so I'm in a weird limbo situation with my life! I just don't date rn cause I feel like I'm too much of a mess haha. Well I think I can commit to one person in practice but I feel all anxious and stifled thinking about long-term.
