I can't say I ever experienced the accent in the three years I was there.

Though I don't know what people constitute as the 'big ones' and I ain't lookin at Zedd, Calvin Harris or David Guetta. Blergh. lol. THERE'S A WORLD BEYOND THEM! I mean I like stuff like Gold Panda, Bob Moses, Bibio, as well as Armin van Buuren and Above and Beyond.

Paul van Dyk's album In Between is what got me into exploring the genre of EDM. He mostly is trance but dabbles with house, and from there I just explored different genres. Eh it depends to the degree you take it, you know? Like you shouldn't let it get into direct conflict with your personal life or have it have such a hold on you that you're not independent from your own parents. We have to grow up and let that go eventually or we'll be treated like children our whole lives and we won't be able to learn from our own mistakes. That's where I have an issue. He literally told his Mom every minute detail and she's very quick to over react and be sensitive, and that goes for his dad and himself too. Like more than me or my parents could be and if you know me at all, that's saying something O_o

 

Just like any genre there's great EDM and awful EDM. What I personally believe falls in the awful category are the ones with shitty vague lyrics that seem deep but mean nothing. "Baby tonight we're beautiful now"...
