My musical taste is so scattershot that finding new stuff is just me going down the recommended artist list on spotify and disliking 90% of it.

 

Did you like Apple Music? I'm thinkin about trying it out. I believe I just read the interface is going to get an overhaul with the new IOS 10 release.

 

Yeah I loved it and lowkey cried the day my wife made me cancel it along with every other streaming thing besides Netflix that brought me joy, to save money for "buying a house" smh.

There are just too many bands it's overwhelming and they all have weird names now for some reason

 

It's definitely getting too intentionally weird out there.

 

I also have weird hyperbole with stuff. Sometimes I'l hear something once and be like "THIS SHIT FUCKING SUCKSSSSSSS" and then a month later it's all I listen to and it's AOTY. Or I'll think something is really great for a week and gush over it and then forget about it a month later and never listen to it all year.

Or the random case with The 1975 where I thought their last album sucked really bad, heard the new one and was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed it but then haven't listened to it since it came out, tried the other week, thought it was whatever and deleted it.

 

What's a weird example?

 

I think the weird band name thing died down about 8 years ago.

I've probably heard like six albums this year and will probably hear about six more before ours over and my mind is pretty much made up that Chance will be the best

I Wrote Haikus about Suicide in Your Yearbook was always a personal fave.

 

I don't understand why anyone would put the word "Fuck" in their band name. That puts an immediate ceiling on your band imo.

 

I don't think I'll ever stop being voracious about music. It's legit my fuel. I have an album I'm listening to in the car. I listen to 2-3 while walking/exercising every day. I listen when I cook. I listen when I clean up around the house or get ready to go out. I listen when I browse around the Internet. Sometimes I'll mute the TV during commercials in Red Sox games and play a random song or two off Spotify.

Usually people are hyperbolic when they say they need music to live. I honestly think I could get by easier without food. Lol

There are definitely weirder band names especially spelling wise. PVris, Chvrches. Lots of Vs

 

i've heard so much new good music this year it's sickening

 

I can't imagine a band that puts Fuck in their name is too worried about their ceiling. But Fucked Up did win some canadian music award so good for them.

 

Great band.
