Do you use your phone for streaming on long trips too? I always prefer my ipod cause it holds way more songs and the battery lasts longer. I love being on a long trip and putting on albums I'd forgotten about or haven't listened to in forever. Doesn't hurt that my car charges my ipod while it plays, but doesn't charge my phone while I play it through the aux which is no good for the 12 hour drive I have to make next weekend. but I'm not complaining or anything

 

I don't feel so bad about missing out on the beach this weekend bc the pictures they're sending me are showing how awful the weather is and it's supposed to get worse.

 

Yeah I have unlimited data and a car charger so Spotify and podcasts all the time

 

I'm jealous of your high techness. My car doesn't have an aux thingy in it so I have to use an attachment to my cigarette lighter to play music so I can't simultaneously charge my phone and listen to it through the speakers it is very rude. And I wish I had unlimited data but money? What's that? Never heard of it tbh!

 

How much is unlimited data over that way?

 

My carrier (Verizon) is moving to not offer unlimited data at all by the end of this year. They have a new tiered service which I need to eventually look at to see if I can get more data. I have a five year old plan so all of my rates are weird compared to normal stuff.

 

I have Verizon and I pay less being on a family plan with my dad and stepmom and we all share data. I only use like 0.5 gigs a month tho. Now that my sister got off the plan we have lots more to share cause she was a data hog but I'm always paranoid of getting too comfortable and being the one who uses up all the data lol.

Verizon won't let me have unlimited. It's that tier thing when I reupped in like May.

 

Well I mean, I know that, but we have like 10 national carriers so it varies a lot. My carrier doesn't currently offer it. And my plan isn't offered anymore so I don't know what the current rate is. But cell phone plans here are shocking high compared to stuff like Wind and TIM were in Italy. My cell phone for six months in Italy was cheaper than one month here.

Quickly checking their new plans (monthly, and before you add your device fee):

1gb-$30, 3gb-$45, 6gb-$60, 12gb-$80, 18gb-$100

 

Verizon pisses me off, but I've been a customer for fourteen years and they are head and shoulders above all the other carriers where I live. That new tiered system could get me a decent boost in data for what I'm paying now. I'm just still angry about the device fee bs.

 

CHRIST. I pay 40 euros a month and get unlimited data, texts, and calls. I mean there's a fair usage cap but that's like 2 terabytes. next month I'm moving to a sim only plan that's 20 euros for the same deal.

YUP. when i got home from italy i turned to my parents and said "we're being fleeced." verizon is the most expensive, btw, but of the four main carriers (verizon, at&t, sprint, t-mobile) they're not gonna be far off those prices.

 

Our other carriers have those tiered systems too, always have. The one I'm on is the cheapest, they're all a bit shit tho. We all get 4G for free too.

I actually love having T-Mobile. I know people talk a lot of shit on it but I very rarely have service problems anymore unless I'm like underground or in the middle of nowhere. Somewhat cheap, great service, and unlimited data on streaming music. I can't complain.
