Corporal punishment is bad

 

my mom used to beat me with a wooden spoon. the day that thing broke was the happiest day of my life.

 

Looking for a job while at work and seeing how bleak it is out there is kind of a bummer.

 

I wasn't really spanked as a kid. I did more damage to myself by being a clumsy idiot, which probably negated the need for physical punishment. Definitely was king of the "sit on your bed" punishment, though.

 

My mom beat me with the stick thing from a ribbon dancer. I never knew something that brought so much joy to me could be used against me lol

 

My dad never hit me. It was always my mother, because she's fucking crazy.

 

My parents were strongly corporal punishment, so they would just take my stuff/toys away as punishment. And probably so they could use them.

 

My siblings would not be sent to their rooms because they were always there anyway. Sending me to my room with no phone or people was hell. I hate being alone and in my bedroom where I could hear everyone drove me crazy.

 

Yeah they took my stuff, too. Mostly my SNES games. Jokes on them, I'd just go to my neighbors and play his N64. Suck it, Dad.

 

My parents once punished me by removing my TV privileges and forgot they did that and to give me them back until I was like hey it's been awhile

 

Maybe it's just a California thing, or SoCal, but I've never met anyone who had any physical punishment from their parents

 

My mom used to take my SIM card and then lose it so we always had to go get a new one.

 

When I was 4, my mom put pretty much everything that was in my room into trash bags and told me she threw away all my stuff. I don't even remember what I did wrong. Maybe I breathed the wrong way or blinked too fast for her. who the fuck knows.

 

Oh and she will tell you that everything I say is completely made up.

No mom, you just don't want people know what a bitch you were/are.

 

I don't remember ever being hit as a kid, just threatened.

My brother said my mom beat him. I think my dad convinced him it was true. We shared a room and I would have known.

I just remember a lot of times they would take away our video games.

 

That's what my mom does, too.

My dad didn't spank us bc he didn't think it was right for a man to spank a little girl.

My mom spanked and sent us to our rooms with no phone, tv, video games, etc

 

I can't imagine ever hitting my kids. No fucking way.

 

My mom also used to tell me she was going to put me into foster care. She should of, I would have probably had a nicer mom through the system.

My dad never spanked me or raised his voice at me and I respect him loads more than my mom. She spanked and a few times slapped me on the face. She'd take away my books cause I didn't use the computer much lol. One time she grounded me and caught me watching TV through the reflection of the aquarium and I got busted. She was all sorts of ridic tho and she denies it all when I try to bring it up like lol ok. No surprise she escalated when she was drunk once and got arrested for punching my older sister in the face. Ahhhh motherly love

 

Some of the stuff my mom does makes people think I'm lying or exaggerating lol

 

The closest I'll come to having a kid is my dog. We accidentally closed the closet door with him inside last night for like, 10 mins, and I legitimately felt like the worst person on earth once we figured it out and set him free. And that's for a damn Terrier, let alone a small human. I could never hit a kid.

 

My mom totally belongs in a padded room for like a week or two.

 

I work with kids and it's ridic what ppl think is acceptable. I've had ppl tell me things where it's like ??? you know I'm a mandatory reporter right and as soon as I leave your house I'm gonna report u. But I genuinely don't think they see anything wrong with it, especially since it's how they grew up. Awful when ppl can't break the cycle. I found myself getting very angry and hostile when I lived with my mom and I think if I hadn't moved out at 15 I def wouldn't have properly learned how to manage anger and been like her.
