Haha nah, she's really into farming and such so her FB is literally a ton of pictures of her animals and such. Really cool person overall.

 

i never liked any of those bad old pop punk bands so hah

 

Disregarding his problematic infatuation with black culture, they simply weren't as tight or clever as his other films, imo. I didn't find them very interesting

 

I will never EVER turn my back on that album. I am trying to hard to find it on Vinyl. I think once I get that I will have all FOB on vinyl.

I agree with the first part but overall still enjoyed them. That being said I probably won't watch them again, don't really have an desire for a second viewing which is probably not a great sign lol

 

Saves the Day, specifically SWYA, is the band that holds up the most from that era/scene. Can hear their influence in Hotelier and Pinegrove, imo

Yeah, there are very few albums that do what TTTYG does, and do it that well. I think it easily holds up

I used to be a huge FOB fan but besides first listens to new records I haven't really listened in years. They don't do anything for me anymore/didn't hold up like I thought they would

 

Yep, lots more coming around to saying that WYWTB is better as well.

 

I find TAYF and WYWTB equally horrible

 

While I love WYWTB, it's not TAYF.

I just don't connect to the petty often misogynistic lyrics anymore. If I find any enjoyment from older records like that it's purely nostalgia

That's how I feel about a bunch of those old scene records as well. Like it's fun to go back and think of how things were back when listening to them but the connection isn't there. Sometimes it's really hard to sit through a record because of it. Senses Fail's Let It Enfold You is a perfect example, I get so turned off by the lyrics in that thing.

I'm slowly realizing how little I paid attention to or cared about the lyrics of a lot of bands I "loved". Sure, I can sing them loudly but I guess I wasn't the type to connect to lyrics that deeply as a teenager. Some songs/artists, absolutely, but looking back idk what I saw in a lot of bands.

I moreso connect the tone and atmosphere of songs and records to specific places and times rather than the actual content of a song. Thats just a fancy way of describing nostalgia though lol. I don't really see that as a bad thing, though. Me recognizing YFW doesn't have the best songwriting or lyrics doesn't stop me from listening and connecting it to some amazing, important events in my life

 

It was under warranty, so I got it fixed :D. Also, I have stopped carrying that around with me going into restrooms.

My cat was in the bathtub and I tried to get him out. He wasn't cooperating and before I knew it, I dropped him lol.

 

I'm probably more casual. The only FOB albums I've heard more than once are FUTCT, IOH, and SRAR. The only Brand New album I've heard more than once is Deja Entendu.

 

I can already feel the death glare eyes, but I don't like Brand New.
