I wish I had been given that luxury.

 

I'm a bit dismayed that it's already June

 

Oh yeah we don't do that one. We do all the fun ones. "Miller's Tale" and people shoving hot pokers up someone's ass. "Reeve's Tale" and everyone mistaking who they're having sex with. Etc.

 

I put my iTunes on shuffle and it's played four Thursday songs already. Probably should just switch to their albums now.

 

I never had to read the Canterbury Tales, but just from that one line I think my brain might explode

 

I don't think the class I was in was mature enough for that. I was an idiot in high school and got myself in all the lower level classes so I didn't have to do any work. I would actually skip classes to go into the higher level classes and actually learn stuff. My teachers allowed it because they "saw I had so much more potential." In reality, I just loved being lazy. lol

 

I was in AP English and we still didn't have to deal with that

 

It's basically: "When it stops raining in April and the dryness of March has been removed to the root" aka "April showers bring May flowers."

Behold in wonder my English degree in all it's useless shinfo.

 

This girl is me in high school.

 

I'm gonna miss teaching TKAMB, the Outsiders and Romeo and Juliet. I don't even know what they have me teaching next year

 

We used to have to dress up as characters from Canterbury Tales and I liked the language bc it was like a puzzle to figure out what the hell they were saying.

 

I could never teach high school English as most of the stuff I loved learning about barely got touched upon in college courses, let alone before then.

 

My one consolation if they ever make me teach freshmen is finally being able to do Romeo and Juliet, TKAM, Of Mice and Men and The Old Man and the Sea. Not being able to do 3 of those in my American Lit course always bums me out.

 

I found To Kill an Mockingbird and that one about the kid who runs away and falls in love with a prostitute so uninteresting. Freshman English was rough.

 

I read some of Canterbury Tales but I prefer Chaucer's work as an announcer than a writer.

 

i only had to read like, one story of canterbury tales and it was miserable

 

I forgot that we watched Knight's Tale every single time the teacher was out. I was so damn sick of that film by the end of the year.

 

Hahah, we watched a Knights Tale all the time too.

 

Planet Fitness over drafted my account with that dues thing they have, so now I have negative money until like tomorrow. This is gonna suck.

 

I've decided that next year I want to do a lesson or two on American short films in my American Lit class. Trying to decide what I'd use. Probably a Looney Tunes, definitely a Chaplin, likely a Pixar. Maybe a vintage Disney? Laurel and Hardy? Stooges? Keaton? Tom and Jerry? I'll have to put some thought into it over the summer.

 

Oh hey, my gym payment is pulled out today. Probably means I should actually go to the gym. I'd just talked myself into not going, too.

 

I'd cancel my membership but apparently, PF is extremely hard to break away from so I guess I'm stuck there.

I'm so glad my gym is at work and that I can go during lunch. Saves me money and gets my lazy ass out of the chair.

 

Those old Looney Tunes cartoons are so good.
