I agree. And I think people are going overboard with petitions and protests, most of them seem to be ignoring that a young kid was in danger. It makes me uneasy.

Calling a random stranger a bad parent also doesn't sit well with me

I just can't believe the mom wasn't panicking and was so calm. The more I think about it though different people react in different ways.

Maybe she was nervous but on the surface she looked calm and ready

I think about some of the kids I work with. If the mom panicks and makes a scene while im administering shots, the kid freaks. So she probably thought of it that way like if I freak he's gonna freak and agitate the gorilla more.

Maybe if you had raised him better, we wouldn't have this problem.

So what you're saying is I should go in the thread and berate him as if he was my son and you're a mod and fine with this.

GoT seems like my kinda show since I love LOTR but I hear there are quite a lot of rape scenes or something? I've steered clear bc of that.

It's weird but I prefer not to be up on any show that popular. Like if I see multiple people talking about it when I log into Facebook I probably won't watch it

Anyway I don't have HBO or a Swiss bank account

I cringe when people say LOTR is like GoT and vice-versace.

    Both.

Like just because they both are medieval-ish fantasy doesn't mean they're similar. Both aren't really comparable at all.

I didn't mean it like that. Time period seems similar is what I meant.

I love both stories, but they're definitely not very similar except shelved in high fantasy. I do think you'd enjoy the show. There are three main rapes, which is three too many, but with the third one they finally gave it a plot to show the victim overcoming and properly dealing with it. But I will say, if those story lines or themes are triggers, don't bother with it.

I don't know anything about GoT so I guess I shouldn't have used LOTR as a comparison. I regret saying that now.

Nah, it's very common. No harm no foul. GRRM was called "The American Tolkien" throughout most of the late 90s/early 00s.

One of my managers keeps bothering me to watch GoT and it just makes me wanna watch it even less. I have commitment issues with new shows
