Haha yeah that album was mostly bad but their are a few songs on it I like. On My Own and the Keep Secrets song are as a good as any on S/t

Mormons aren't allowed to smoke are they? I think that's what he got kicked out for (there were so many rumors I don't know which is true) bc it was damaging his voice.

Yeah not supposed to smoke, drink, drink coffee or tea with caffeine, enjoy life, etc. I heard rumors too but I'm not sure, I think he just left. Brandon Flowers is Mormon too I guess. And the lead singer of Panic! At The Disco used to be. And Neon Trees lead singer used to be. You know all these things because Mormons really hold them up on pedestals when they hit fame haha

Daaaaang being Mormon sucks. My granddaddy was and when he was diagnosed with terminal cancer he tried to explain it to me and my 17 yr old brain couldn't comprehend it. It seemed like a cult to me (no offense..even though I know you left but still have practicing family members)

I hung out with AnxP while he was Mormon and when we did SXSW I tried so hard not to drink out of respect and broke when our set got pushed back like 5 hours

 

This drink is a mixture of vodka Chardonnay and moscato and I never really drink vodka but this is good

I can lift a lot with my legs but my arms are beyond weak. Couldn't do a pull-up if my life depended on it.

 

When I was reviewing albums I got an advance of that Saosin record and my laptop was stolen when I was on holiday and it leaked like ~4 hours later.

This should probably go in the rant thread, but whatever. What is up with people saying they "lack empathy" as a point of pride? They make comparisons to themselves as Dexter, for example, to show how they fake their way through life. I do not understand how this does not make you a)a fucking moron, b) someone who does not understand the psyche of humans and c) actually a bro, who cares very much about all things related to your appearance, but who cannot make meaningful connections because you are a piece of shit. In the past week, I've heard this thrown around multiple times. Once by a co-worker, an Uber driver and a couple of mutual acquaintances. I do not understand how this has become cool. I understand how popular cultural provides archetypes to which people aspire, but I don't understand how this particular became one of the most popular ones. Maybe it is because American culture is narcissistic and completely individualistic. Either way, these people annoy the shit out of me with their excuses that this is how they were built and blah, blah blah.

 

I'm pretty convinced that snapchat makes southerners sound ridiculous on purpose. My friend Lisa has no trace of an accent IRL but she sounds like a bumpkin on snapchat just like I do.

and also, many people here (something not common in europe at all so it still weirds me out) feel the need to ask every personal question in the book, all while pouring out their life stories at the same time. i feel uncomfortable. a couple of years ago the cashier at walgreens was asking me why i was buying a certain supplement. i mentioned my PMS. she proceeded to say that she got a hysterectomy. i didn't really know how to respond.

 

This was a great and awful idea

 

Similarly people have loud personal conversations in public which is rude and bizarre

 

I don't answer my phone in public when I'm somewhere semi quiet. Most people know if something bad has happened to call me twice in a row and then I'll pick up or call back.

 

There is a very small list of people I answer the phone for no matter what and those people never call me
