I was super into podcasts for awhile, but switched to audiobooks.

 

I'm not too big on podcasts overall. All of the things that I'm into tend to have a lot of 'know it all' type fans. Too many subjective opinions kill me. I'd rather just listen to guys bullshit about the crazy wrestling stories they have. Haha.

 

Yeah I normally just listen to video game podcasts, just to keep up on news and stuff, and then one film podcast.

 

I'm subscribed to like 15 podcasts that I listen to regularly. Mostly comedy and sports. A few music ones. One religion. Podcasts are the best.

 

I really enjoyed the first ten episodes or so of Lead Singer Syndrome, then Shane went on a run of bands I don't care about and I totally lost interest.

 

Never listened because Silverstein.

I'd somehow gone through the entire "scene" phase without listening to Silverstein, but his guests had me curious enough I checked it out. Ended up going back and listening to Discovering the Waterfront and then their most recent. Would've been right up my alley in '05.

 

Tried listening to LOTR as an audio book a few years back. I always fell asleep, maybe because someone else was driving. I'm all about podcasts though

 

That Silverstein album with the robot on it was pretty big for my first girlfriend and myself. It wasn't very good, but had some songs that were iight. The single was great.

 

The only podcast I listen to every week is a horror film podcast, but besides that I listen to a bunch of NPR style podcasts

 

Oof yeah, I just played video games and drank like two beers haha

 

Have you watched Slasher already? I still so high on it.

 

Ever since Audible really took off, audiobooks have become much better I've noticed. The voice actors are better, they're more productions than flat readings, etc. I also feel like LOTR is a very difficult book, as most books written before... let's say 1970... would be very difficult for audiobook. There's been a huge shift in writing styles and voice since the invention and explosion of the television.

 

Nah I actually haven't heard of it besides what you've posted. I'm gonna add it to my list though

 

I'm watching the French Open, and Lacoste has been using the same commercial for the last three tennis seasons, but I'm always stoked on it because this song is fantastic:

Now I'm just hoping that Wimbledon finally found a new song and doesn't use 30STM's "Kings and Queens" for like the sixth season in a row next month.

and still subscribed to Serial even though I dropped out of Season 2 because it was so horrible

 

I wish Audible wasn't a subscription service. I'd like to just buy audiobooks when they're cheap so I don't have to spend money on it every month when I'm definitely not going to finish a book per month. I got Nick Offerman's book like a year or two ago and still haven't finished it because I usually just go right to podcasts

 

Also sometimes I get an audiobook with someone great reading it and I am thoroughly engaged. Other times I get someone with a voice I hate so I can't get through it. The Martian, Room and Go Set A Watchmen were all easy to follow even though only two of those books are good.

Yeah. I got a three month free subscription, then three months half off, so I got seven books for a total of $28 bucks (bought a deal of the day for $3.95). I'll probably keep the subscription if I get one of these jobs, as I enjoy it. I've finished two books in the last week. They've also started this thing where you can send books to people, but then stuck the stupid caveat that it's only free for them if it's their first book received. I like how you can lend with Kindle and wish it was the same for this.

I'll second The Martian having an incredible reader. Ready Player One has Wil Weaton reading it, and it's fuckin' awesome.

 

I've never played WoW but the Warcraft movie looks really good.

 

I have never even heard of any of these lol I also don't watch many horror movies because I get scared easily and then cant sleep haha
