Depends on your income and such. We got some down payment assistance because my wife is a teacher. We still have to put some down but not the huge chunk normally required.

 

So glad this is on Netflix now. My wife does not understand why I love it but it's the best.

 

Should I play in my company's softball game?

I'm athletic but don't really play softball, but know how it works. ALso it's in Queens and I live in Jersey, which is a trip I am used to but ehh..

 

Yup, one of my coworkers just closed on a house a couple weeks ago and the stories of their search sounded pretty terrible. I live in the suburbs of Boston rn which is a very similar market with all the tech companies. I actually really want to move to Seattle for at least a couple years because I've lived here all my life, I wanna do something different. And I'm sure I'd love it there.

 

YES!! I was just saying the other day that I wish my company would do something like that.

 

Do it. Besides the obvious reasons of high rent because of Amazon/Google it's the best place I have lived and I've moved around a decent amount.

Plus if you come here you can watch me do a magical drunken rendition of Forgot About Dre at an amazing karaoke bar. If that's not a selling point I don't know what is Scott.

 

I really hate that this new reboot has basically shat on what Craig built until he wasn't involved anymore.

 

Freelance? I get jobs through bidding on Upwork (pretty difficult), or from a local freelancer who sub-contracts to me and pockets the profit of charging his rate while paying me less (but still really well) without doing the work.

All the jobs I'm interviewing for? One from Indeed, one from Monster, and one from a local job board (but also cross-posted on LinkedIn).

My car's paid off, so that's nice. I'd love to work from home, but I'm pretty sure I'd do better getting out of here. So easy to get distracted at home for me.

 

If I could get a job there I would, but I suck at interviews and the entire application/interview process gives me so much anxiety. I've applied to a few jobs here and there though. Also stressful because I feel like I need to do it really soon if I'm ever going to, because I wouldn't want to move my daughter across the country once she's in school.

Also I can definitely rap all of Forgot About Dre so that'd work out well.

 

We'll see. It depends. I only really socialize with people in my department and they're all on the older end, so they won't be playing. Don't know everyone else that well.

 

I'll never be able to afford property in my hometown. It's a big part of why I plan to transfer south soon. I'm amazed when I see so many listings for under $200k.
