This Ariana Grande album is such a great progression for her. "Bad Decisions" is a banger.

I know I'm in the minority as I'm not the biggest fan of Anti at all, but Dangerous Woman is exactly the type of album I wanted from Rihanna.

Listening to From Under the Cork Tree now thanks to @Garrett L.

 

The sheer amount of high quality albums released by African-Americans this year is staggering, and so great to see more people experiencing these albums. It's not even June and we have Anti, Pablo, EVOL, Slime Season 3, Lemonade (current AOTY for me), Coloring Book, Views (ehhhhhhhh not high quality, just Drake doubling down on Drake), and now Dangerous Woman.

 

Totally going to listen to it after Ari.

edit: she's sicilian. sicilians sometimes have north african descent. ari tweeted something along those lines recently enough.

okay, she's descended from the area of italy I've never been to. i'm sitting over here thinking, "she doesn't like a damn thing like any italian i've ever seen and i've lived there almost a year."

 

I believe in one of the SNL skits she goes, "i'm not hispanic, I'm actually just really Italian!" Something like that.. I'm paraphrasing.

I once had this high school teacher who I pretty sure South Asian, but turned out... she was Italian!

 

A lot of northern Italians look German because of invasions by the Austro-Hungarian empires.

 

Ariana Grande is a tiny, horrid demon who sings through her nose. Do not want.

 

I believe there is some Nordic descent in Sicilians due to the Norman invasions.

 

She's punk. Singing through your nose is punk.

 

I wasn't the biggest fan of her debut, but you're missing out if you don't at least check this one out. Huge growth.

 

I love Ari.

 

Honeymoon Avenue is still the best ever.
