So we basically read the same stuff. lol

My biggest suggestion is reading anything Remender writes. Every book has been great. If I had to give it an order:

1: Deadly Class
2: Black Science
3: Low
4: Tokyo Ghost

Rat Queens is wonderful. Kaptara is great if you are into cosmic comedy stuff.

If you don't already use instocktrades.com, you can get most of Image's #1's for $5.

 

And Descender! OMG Descender.

 

I was thinking I might go with East of West but Black Science is one I keep meaning to check out and forget to. I don't think I've heard of Deadly Class. Thanks for the list and check out Clean Room if you haven't.

Clean Room is so confusing. lol I'm not caught up, but I read the first four or five. I will read anything Gail Simone does at this point. Her Batgirl and Red Sonja runs are two of my favorite comics.

Dustin Nguyen's are is unbelievable. He did some stuff in American Vampire that I looooovvvveeeee. That book is crazy good.

Tbh I don't even know what genres I want to read. I mainly read Marvel and DC stuff, so I haven't ventured far from the superhero genre

 

Everyone seems to think the 'Cap dies' plot is a part of the Civil War story. It's actually a stand alone that happened not long after.

Check out Ex Machina. It's about a super hero who gives up his mantle to pursue politics. It's by one of the best authors in the biz. Brian K Vaughan. The guy is comic gold.

Jupiter's Legacy and Jupiter's Circle are about superhero families. You can read them in either order since they are both only one volume in. Those are by Mark Millar, the guy who wrote Kick Ass and Wanted.

Those are two strong starting points for getting into indie books.

 

Oh yeah, I started We Stand On Guard by Vaughan but I'm terrible at reading comics and I never got around to buying issue 3

 

Same here. Haha. The hardcover just came in the mail. I'll try and get to it this week.

 

We Stand on Guard is the only BKV book I couldn't really get into. Ex Machina and Y The Last Man would be good to start off with. Saga is his masterpiece imo.
