I remember a couple years ago FCBD and RSD were the same day. That was conflicting

None of my family discusses politics except me so I rarely know where anyone stands but the other day my sis posted an anti trump article on fb and found out like her entire brother in laws family is for him. Today I have to go to a mother's day thing and his family will be there and I feel weird. There's this elephant in the room that they're super weird and horrible. Which I always had a feeling about through their microaggressions but it's def confirmed now!

For no reason whatsoever, I always get excited when it's Derby Day.

I was a derby darling my 1st year in college. I quit when the frat guys started treating us like slaves for all of the activities afterward. I quit doing the sorority thing bc I realized how racist it was. I have poc friends and they wouldn't allow us to be seen in public or we'd be punished. Then there was how expensive it was and the rules about crossing your legs when you're sitting down in public and you always wore a strand of pearls at all times.

Half my immediate family is on hide on fb until after the election. So disappointing.

Oh man, that is absolutely ridiculous. I've never been a big fan of Greek Life, and that little insight just made it worse. A couple of my coworkers were AKAs and they'd tell stories and I'd be like, "So, why is this enjoyable???"

As for the Derby itself, I've always been fascinated by horses and think the race is one of the most exciting annual events in sports. Have for most of my life.

That episode of Don't Trust the B when chloe has to see her mom on Thanksgiving and every lil innocuous thing her mom does causes her to freak out is too real. Especially when her mom tings her glass with a spoon to make a toast and says "ting!" And chloe yells "you don't need to ting the glass AND say ting!!!!" That's like me and my mom lol she's grating every nerve this morning

Derby is really fun. I liked having an excuse to wear a cute dress and a big, ridiculous hat lol

I like excuses to drink Mint Juleps. One day I'd love to go to the race. I've had a couple older family friends who have gone and they have the most ridiculous time.

My physics professor graded me an A for the semester. I'm not complaining, but I don't remember a THING from it.

I live right by Samurai Comics on Country Club and Southern, then there's Greg's Comics on Alma School and Guadalupe. There's also Gotham Comics that's on main.

  17. I once competed in and placed as a semi finalist in a Super Smash Bros tournament at a comic shop in Mesa. Being 17 was sweet

Who'd you play as? Was it N64? Luigi is my boy.

  20. It was Melee! I mostly used Kirby, but played as Captain Falcon every now and then, who I was actually much better as. Since Kirby had been working for me that day though, I kept sticking with him. It was an event for the opening of the (now closed) Atomic Comics at Country Club and Southern

I'm just realizing the tulips I bought for my mom were probably a bad idea considering she doesn't garden. Should've went with chocolates or perfume.
