My dad votes for party, not politician, and for that very reason, we cannot (and probably will never) talk politics/social issues, ha.

Oh, mine too. I try not to think about it because that whole side of the family is actually incredibly hypocritical, but I don't want to start actively disliking them. Hiding everyone on Facebook helped a lot.

Oh yeah, I have some friends who have Trump-supporting family members. It's tough. Luckily my dad typically comes around to my way of thinking when it comes to political/social issues, he is very receptive to discussion and is very willing to change and learn, which is so amazing. His girlfriend is somewhat the same way, but she is an avid Kasich supporter... well I just kind of keep my mouth shut, haha.

Sometimes I think certain people honestly don't have the capacity to change after a certain point. It's like they reach a threshold that can't be crossed after so many years.

I have roughly 600 Facebook friends (mostly random people and people in the music scene where I live), but I think I only follow 200 of them. Even then, I'm seriously considering getting off of Facebook because of all the stress and headaches it causes me.

When I visit my parents me and my step-dad argue about politics but then my mom will break us up and say we're not allowed to talk about it in her house. Then I'll be at the fridge or something and he'll slip over to me and in hushed tones be like "All I was saying was..." and launch into a lecture lol

For my birthday I asked my dad and his wife to stop posting about politics. Best present ever.

That's essentially what I've decided to resort to.

Re: hair buzzing - Summer's almost here, which means my beard is going to have to dramatically reduce in size to help lower my incredibly high body temp. I'm not thrilled.

All of my close friends here in Richmond are republican. It's so crazy to me.

I can hardly imagine the kind of stubbornness needed to vote on the basis of a party, and yet I know countless people with that mentality. It legitimately baffles me.

A ton of mine are Democrat which feels amazing given that we live in Texas. Makes it feel like there could be a changing of the guard here.

My dad will vote Trump over Sanders or Clinton and he hates Trump. It's so weird to vote just for party.

My dad is full on Cruz and says if he doesn't win nomination he probably won't vote. I'm not buying it though. He hates Trump but I think it's one of those things where you dislike a sports player but then he comes to your team and you try to find things you like about them.

It hurts my feelings that my dad is pro-Trump. He has a wife and has raised 2 daughters. It's like he completely ignores how awful Trump is when it comes to women bc he likes all of the other shit he spews.

I'm all about Margot and Lily myself. I don't want boys so I haven't come up with names for my imaginary kids I'll never have.

It's still so funny to me when your dad tags you in something or comments on your stuff because he talks like you're 5 years old and not in your twenties with two kids of your own lol

My dad backs Sanders, which I can absolutely get down with. He thinks all of the Republicans are laughable

God it drives me crazy hahaha. It's the whole reason my mom and I aren't Facebook friends anymore tbh, I can barely tolerate it with my dad but with my mom it's hell.

I'm still hoping no one gets enough delegates and Kasich steals it in the vote. Dude would get my vote if Hillary won the Primary. Seems like a stand-up guy.

my dad's a partyliner, but he's hardcore blue collar dem. i think he resigned himself to clinton, but i'll probably be able to convince him to vote for sanders in the primary.

I keep getting asked if I want to meet my father and I'm like, meh I guess. I'd rather meet Bruce Springsteen.

the earth is not a cold dead place.

I still vividly remember during the 2004 elections, I was 11 and my dad took me to vote with him. I didn't understand anything, but I remember my dad simply pulling the lever for all the Republican options and that was it. He said something about how that's just what you do.

I'm still very hesitant to talk about politics with people, because I'm in such a conservative area and my wife and I are the only staunch progressives within our circle of friends/families.

    Am I a partyliner if I just don't Republican?
