ugh why do the artists I love keep playing in Vegas only and make me spend more money??? Either they're turning into nostalgia acts and do residencies or have a Latino fanbase and Vegas is the closest they play to me. Stop making me spend $$$!!!! Curse you, BSB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly I probably should at this rate!!

 

Last night was fun. I got drunk and sang.

 

Was supposed to go with my dad and lil sis to take her homecoming dress shopping. Nearest stores are an hour away and she can't drive. She copped an attitude tho and my dad said one more word and he's not taking her. She said one more word. Imma see how this showdown ends up. Oh teen attitude

Edit: she called him an idiot and is yelling that he didn't check his tire pressure yesterday. Lol at what age do you develop a filter?

Edit 2: she just yelled "OH MY GOD KIANA YOU'RE AN IDIOT. STOP TRYING TO MAKE ME MORE MAD" because I said she was acting rude. About to say "the power of christ compels you" and flick some holy water at her

Edit 3: aw he ended up taking her. Softy! 16 year old me would've never gotten away with it!

 

My sister and I rarely fight but when we do it's bad. At our age we prob should be above some of our insults we throw at each other.

 

Me and my older sister fought all the time cause we're close in age. we never fight now tho

My younger sister has serious anger issues and can't manage emotions. She's always been like that so we fight frequently because it's like walking on eggshells around her and you'll never know what sets her off

 

I've been meaning to learn the riff to 96 Quiet Bitter Beings for this exact reason

I don't have a credit card but I only have $2500 left on one of my loans!! It started off as like 23k 3-4 years ago and I'm so close! Granted, I have another big loan still left but that's a Stafford with lower interest so idc as much.

 

I should really be keeping up on my studying and assignments, but

I hate when I find out about some social norm or etiquette I never knew about. Then it's like, have I been coming off rude??? I'm still confused about ppl talking about sending thank you notes after job interviews. Nobody I ever know has done that but I see ppl talk about it online. Is that just fancy professional jobs or fancy cities??? I feel like I need to know for the future!! I've gotten 2/3 jobs I've interviewed for and the one I didn't get was cause they were always gonna hire internally. I just can't imagine that making or breaking whether someone is hired and if it does that's so silly!

 

I have never heard of that that sounds so stupid, like maybe a follow up email but that just makes me think of when parents send colleges Edible Arrangements to bribe their kids into getting in, it doesn't work obvs

 

I've only heard it on ontd lol! Someone was freaking out that they forgot to send a thank you card and ppl were telling them to send a thank you email asap. Then another time someone who claimed to work in HR said they take it into account when hiring! Like if they're torn between two ppl they'll pick the one with the thank you note. How weird?? I was like idk, maybe those are fancy career jobs where you have to kiss butt to make it? haha idk!!

 

I have always done that but I'm not sure how much it actually contributes to getting the job or not.

 

Asskissing never hurts. I've only sent one for an internship, just thanking them for taking the time. It's not really about being courteous so much as just sending them something additional to keep your name in mind when they're making their decision.


I didn't get the job because I fucked up the super basic technical question, but I'd assume it didn't hurt.

 

I know it's naive but I wish ppl just decided on who was best for the job. At my old job, the interviewer would take extensive notes on each interviewee and had to submit them to HR to prove they were best for the job. If HR felt like they were fudging or being unfair they'd intervene. Still ways to get around it I'm sure, like writing better notes for the person you want, but it was nice knowing that they at least attempted to circumvent some of the political butt-kissing junk lol.

I am not social-savvy or the type to suck up, so I'll prob toil where I am without making it up the ladder for a while ha.

 

Yeah, it's a little different for a real job, and who knows how much effect it actually has, but my perspective has always been that it can't hurt. Also maybe it's more of a small company/startup environment/STEM teamwork thing, but anything that makes you look better socially helps
