Y'all come back to me when you've experienced driving in a third world country where a family is using a moped like a minivan.

 

I drove through villages in Afghanistan. Scariest shit ever for a bunch of reasons. Mostly because people speed around you while other people are walking through the streets. Oh yeah, and people just walk around with AK-47's for no fucking reason.

 

I know it's way worse in Afghanistan from accounts of friends who went, but this description really does make it sound just like Texas.

 

irish country roads are horrible. barely wide enough to fit a car and we have much smaller cars than the us

 

I would die on the spot. Watching the videos makes me feel like I'm on the verge of a panic attack. You are the king of driving if you survived that craziness.

 

I haven't driven anything outside of a forklift for an extended period of time in years. Ha.

 

Driving a forklift for hours and driving a car after is such an awkward feeling.

"What do you mean I can't swivel in place by turning hard left?"

Only thing worse is riding a go-kart and constantly flooring it, then getting in a car again after.

 

I cycle and get public transport everywhere

Hahaha. When I first was getting my certification, all of my moves on the forklift were awkward, given that the centers of gravity are very different. It attracted a lot of technicians.

I'm a bus rider as well.

 

A few times a year people will tell me I look like amy winehouse and I never know how to respond. I just smile and nod awkwardly and then die inside

 

Wait do forklifts require certifications?!

Na, Texas basically had huge open roads everywhere. The closest I've come to something similar was in Boston. @Lauren can attest that I was kinda terrified driving through there. lol

 

I'd be scared to even be a passenger in that madness!

 

I don't drive anymore and I don't miss it at all. Relaxing on the train is so much better.

 

Lol they def used to have a resemblance. I was told i looked like gaga once or twice early I'm her career but I think she's had enough work done that nobody says it anymore.

Speaking of appearances, someone today commented on my nose in a way where it was implying it was big without outright saying it lol

Well, OSHA requires it, but Texas lets you use a gun as a spoon in family restaurants, so their rejection of regulation isn't surprising.

 

Oh god, at my old job I trained everyone in the company on OSHA regulations.

I trained everyone on regulations and then repetitively broke them at that job. Without even knowing.

 

I used to drive one of those giant forklifts with the telescopic arms and I worried every time that I would crush someone with a container.

 

I did not have any certification.
