Yeah I frequent a few channels, and it's pretty crazy. I can understand where YouTube is coming from, but their guidelines seem incredibly general and vague. That and, from what I understand, it's being done by a bot, which leaves a lot of room for error. The fact that this is happening, coupled with their terrible regulations on channel strikes and copyright claims, is just mind-bottling.

I think YT is a great platform and can be used for a lot of good, I just hope they can get it together and start making the correct changes to improve the content and site overall, instead of ones like this that'll do (in my opinion) way more harm than good.

 

Grew up in an ultra-conservative, Christian household. I'd get some music from friends, but overall, every one that I owned were always censored if they weren't from a Christian band.

Up until my twenties, I had no idea that Blink 182's "Happy Holidays" had lyrics.

 

I'm wondering how it's going to affect the creepy channels that are about murders and stuff. That doesn't seem suitable but if that's the case a lot of channels are going to shut down. If they take Rob Dyke from me, I will riot.

 

The YouTube thing isn't phasing me because Kingsley is the only YouTube personality I know that I like

 

I generally watch comedy-based or some commentary-type channels, and in some way, they break nearly every single one of those new guidelines on an almost daily basis, hah. It'll be interesting to see how this will affect things.

The scariest part, for me, is that they hit Philly D. Dude is massive and really well known in that community, which means smaller channels stand little to no chance at all (which has been the case with all the other BS YouTube has in place). I've considered starting a channel over the last few months, but there's no way I'll even come close to doing that so long as this is happening.
