I didn't fit into the hardcoreish scene my long time boyfriend's band was in. We went full, over the top scene queen once as a joke and everyone loved it. Then the clock struck midnight and I turned back into a pumpkin.

I always had a weird internal struggle with the scene queens. I think part of me thought they looked ridic and part of me was jealous that they dated all the band dudes lol. I think that's why I can't deal with the extreme side part now. It's so dated. The chunky highlights of the late 00s. I'm sure it can be done cutely tho

Some scene styles don't look too bad looking back. But some were just too much.

I grew my hair long one time. Had it about shoulder length. Shave it and haven't gone back to anything really close.

There were no scene kids at my school, so I lucked the fuck out.

The time I had long hair seems like another life. So long ago.

We only had a few at my school and only one girl did the whole ott scene queen look. It was a world I was intrigued about but it seemed kinda harmful. Like things were glorified that prob shouldn't have been and it all seemed rather toxic. Kinda glad I didn't get into it looking back.

Side note I wonder when gerard way will realize we're meant to be. He's closer in age to my parents than me but we can make it work I think

That girl from the Millionares still does the scene look in her late 20's. You don't see that much anymore.

My school was really weird. We had a girl and a guy that were really into spiking their hair and doing mohawks and shit, but that was really it.

My buddy and I broke everyone into the music scene. The younger kids looked up to me for their music and I had no idea. lol.

I also think all of the trashy scene stuff started my senior year, so I missed most of it. Blood Brothers were the closest thing to that stuff in high school.

Everything is circular. Just wait a few more years and she'll get her moment to shine again!

I'm sure Blood on the dancefloor is still doing their thing somewhere.

I was surprised to see Iwrestledabearonce is still making music.

I still see some old white ladies in Jersey with hair stuck in the 80s. Like damn lady!! Bon Jovi grew up, so do you!

What ever happened to Brokencyde? Remember when every scene band had to go out of their way to comment on how terrible they were? I'm just waiting for the first indie darlings to admit they liked them.

They failed at getting like 100k on a gofundme to make another record. They didn't make it.

didn't they kick out the singer cuz she got pregnant or something?

Ha, I just checked their Wikipedia, and their goal was $30,000, but they only got $1,421.

Also, I found this under critical reception: British comic book writer Warren Ellis considered Brokencyde's "FreaXXX" music video "a near-perfect snapshot of everything that’s shit about this point in the culture". Under what circumstances would Warren Ellis address Brokencyde?

No idea, that seems like a mistake given she was the best part of the band.

    First LP is actually decent.

They probably cited Transmetropolitan as an influence to their style.

Late to the convo, but Lights is a goddamn queen and I love legit everything she's ever done very very much, with the exception of the absolute trash last song on Siberia.

Also, this Gallant album is just audio sex, huh? Hot damn.
