    That actually seems possible.

I'm down to meet anyone in the Dallas area, though I'd be a bad host

nah the real problem was young thug. got like 6 threads in six months. futures only had honest-monster-ds-wattba-evol. each distinct for the most part (monster being the least popular but also where most of the monster/bm/56 nights discussion went). thug was a fucking disaster. i had to consolidate like three of them to have it make sense and give him a clear point of discussion on the site

It's why I'd like keeping it open. Not like "you have to hear this one album this week" because that stuff always peters out. If it's a soft-rock artist and that's no your jam, then just sample the singles or a comp and see if something clicks. If not, you know and have experienced something you didn't.

If you're into it, check out 3 records that week.

If your week is too insane, you just sample a few songs, and now you know if they're worth exploring for you later. Etc

I agree with that. Posted in there anyway because love for Audrey. But I think pretty much if an artist is in between albums and has more than 2 or 3 albums, an artist thread at this point is more appropriate.

i think you can change an artist thread to an album thread and vice versa tho so it doesn't really matter that much imo

Having different "rules"/standards for different cases is weird. Why not artist threads across the board? What is possibly lost in there that is gained by album threads?

Because eventually they will have a lot? Or because maybe neither of those two records will draw enough attention to carry a thread?

so basically what i got from this is everyone thought the answer was obvious when i asked but everyone had a different answer in mind

What I'm saying is that having both album threads and artist threads is redundant, and if we have to pick one, I think artist threads easily work better.

why not just have two subforums then? one for albums and one for artists?

That way, the music forum isn't confusing? and then in the music forum itself we could have general music related discussion / threads like other music blogs, music podcast, bandcamp thread, soundcloud thread, self promotion thread, general music chat, upcoming shows, your favorite youtube musicians, music education/school, learning instruments, where to find this artist, does anyone have this album, recommendations, etc...sorry just off the top of my head

    it's ok if everyone disagrees

just think it makes it less confusing

but i'm weird like that about organization haha
