I've checked today a couple times but it is so hard to use now

 

I'm just checking the news and posting in TWD and the sexism thread.

 

i keep torturing myself in the news threads i am a masochist

 

I went to ap once today just to check who quoted me.

 

must say i am enjoying not having rampant anxiety seeing the (1) notification

 

I really want to lead some kind of classic artist discovery on here eventually. Like every week, there's an artist of the week and you can pick a recommended album, explore an album that appeals to you more, check a comp, or just listen to their top tracks on Spotify. Just to get everyone exploring and talking.

Pipe dreams, amirite?

 

There's been so much productive discussion in all different areas here and it's very refreshing

 

I would loveeeee this. Getting into classic artists is difficult for me but I want to do it more.

 

I feel safer here tbh.

 

Well I mean, can't knock it til you try it. The brief moments of life left as one melts into the ether could be quite pleasurable.

 

@AelNire I completely agree. Not to keep harping on The 100, but whereas I was really discouraged in the AP thread, here I had a really great conversation with @Garrett L. and it felt really great (especially given the subject matter) to be met with an open mind for once.

 

I'll just get into the hot tub instead.

 

If people are interested in it on here once everyone settles in, I'd be happy to lead something. I'm not necessarily an expert or anything, but I have the enthusiasm. Haha

 

Definitely do! I don't think I'll be back in St. Louis anytime soon. Haha. My foray in Decatur, IL was brief!

 

i'd like this!! i pretty much only listen to fleetwood mac/joni mitchell when it comes to classic artists so expanding my repertoire there would be nice!

 

If any of you all are in the Austin / San Antonio I can take you for some good brisket/chicken tender tacos.

 

I loved the five days I spent in Portland back in 2010. Actually saw Inception there on a day off from work. It was in a movie theater that was kinda in an underground mall that rose into a skyscraper? It was near Powell's, I think?

 

I'm going to be in Portland in late May/early June

These are the first two artists my mom introduced me to. We're the same person. It's scary.

Hahaha I figured it'd be up to me to get out there! I've never been to the Pacific Northwest but I've wanted to visit for a long time. Portland and Seattle seem like awesome places

 

Those would have to be artists to get a week at some point. Haha.

I'd totally want to cover a lot of eras and sounds and levels of popularity. One week power-pop like The Raspberries. Another week Ray Charles. Then go funk like The Commodores. Then a songwriter like Randy Newman. Just really try and keep it varied

 

We're getting a new hi-tech analyzer at work and they may send us to Cali to take the course. I hope I get to go but I might not since I already know how to use it.

 

I'm going to give you what I have recently started referring to as the Hayley Williams Brazil treatment.
