@wisdomfordebris also be prepared to spend a lot of $$ on food. Everything is very expensive.
There are a lot of really cool bars in Reykjavik too, I went to one that was Big Lebowski themed.

My hostel includes an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet, which I intend to take full advantage of to minimize food costs. I'm thinking small lunches (mostly snacks) every day.

 

Was there any big name people that didn't make the jump that was still fairly active?

 

the roof had a leak and it ruined an electrical module which began to drain my battery. 700 to fix the roof, 400 (3 months is what it took to find this part) for the module, 300 for installing the module, and 300 for new tires which i figured i needed. thank god for my tax returns.

 

oh wow, sorry to hear that.

On my last car, I dropped about $500 on a fix that took a little over a month...only to be rear ended the following week and have my car totaled. was sooo disheartening.

 

I wish I could afford a big trip.

 

Do I have to make a regional thread for NJ since Philly and NYC can piss off?

 

Cars are so complicated. I have an oil leak that would apparently cost more than the car is worth to fix. What sense does that make?

 

I don't see why we need these threads to begin with. But sure go ahead.

I'm glad I bought a brand new car. No way I could afford fixing one.
