tru but i hardly did real mixing and i didnt really flesh it allll the way out cuz i just wanted to do something nice and short. idk. i like making short instrumentals that hover around the 2 minute mark for some reason. introduce the beat then let it ride. leave people wanting more. i dont really know what my listeners like tho since i have instrumentals that stretch past 5 minutes and some that are under a minute. what does everyone like best?

Likewise I'm always tryin to do my best on your tracks specifically and even when selecting other beats I'm like "I don't want Jake to think this is trash" hahaha

 

length doesn't matter at all to me if the quality is there. i enjoyed a lot of your tracks that were closer to the 4 minute mark, especially when they included beat switches and the like. i think you're very good at having distinct "parts" to your songs which makes lengthier songs even better.

sounds awesome! personally, I don't mind the shorter tracks because I have a short attention span and like new things. but like ben said, length isn't an issue if there's constantly new things being introduced, and different parts to a song

 

My fav thing about your production is it constantly shifts. I don't think you've ever given me anything that's an 8/16/8/16/8 like other producers do and I love that, you make stuff that crescendos and decrescendos perfectly to take a life of its own no matter how short or long it is. Also you capture very unique emotions in it that I hardly ever hear elsewhere

 

I like the shorter length but I want that beat to go on forever tbh.

yeah i try to compensate for lack of vocals by having a structure that moves and tells a story of its own. and id rather work with rappers who are talented enough to work in that way than water my stuff down to the basics. and i know you can find ways around my beats.

 

@Sophos thank you. It took me a while to figure out what I wanted as an avatar and I thing The Robot Devil represents me very well.

I also dig the song and don't mind the length.
