In other news fanless mini PCs make for a terrible cooking surface.

I guess I won't be having breakfast any time soon this morning...

  2. Haha, did you really try/do this?! @noxee

Tried and failed. Looks like there wasn't enough contact with the hot surface. So the egg just dried out and I went hungry...

  4. I usually just opt for the stove, but I'm boring.

So I'm going to be flying next week, essentially for the first time (I flew when I was three months old, but obviously don't remember that). Any advice on things to do to calm the nerves, haha other than drinking?

  7. if your flight has wifi then you're all set, otherwise bring an ipod and a book. if it's a long flight there's usually in-flight movies too which are sometimes good.

I'll second reading and listening to music. I used to get really nervous about flying too, but it always helps me to remember that thousands and thousands of people do it every day with very few issues.

  9. I listen to podcasts and order some drinks and try to ignore the world on most flights.

Thanks for the advice everyone! Yeah just something about this being the first flight that I can remember, I'm feeling pretty nervous about it. Everyone says the turbulence is normal, and that taking off can be kind of shaky, so I'm expecting that. And the fact that statistically it's safer than driving. Got a window seat (which may or may not be a good idea), but thought at the least could get a couple of good pictures.

Yeah I'm with everyone else, I usually just put on some tunes and read a book. I usually try and get a window sit because I love looking out and watching the world go by and there's something awesome about being able to see the new city as you come in.

I think the biggest thing is to just relax, make yourself comfortable, and enjoy it. Look at it as an exciting adventure rather than something to be nervous/worried about.

Also I've been in some pretty bad turbulence and I'm still here so you'll be fine!

  13. Things are progressing on the website site. I'm getting excited or nervous or something now.

Moved over all my settings for chorus.fm today so that I could launch on basically a moment's notice if I need to. I haven't been writing there much over the past month anyway as I prepare for all of this, so figured it was fine to kind of shut that down for the next few weeks. My announcement post is written, has been edited a couple times, and just needs one final copyedit before that's ready to go. I have a launch date in my head, but now it's going to all come down to finalizing the negotiations and contracts.

@noxee That's so cool. I was in awe when the bass came in. Well, I was in awe the whole time, but especially at that moment.

  16. I saw this earlier. So cool.

  17. The countdown is on!

@troyplaysbass Yeah the bass definitely gives it a nice groove. I really like the melody made with the vibraphone.

@Jason Tate I keep wanting to quote your posts on AP with "I wish there was a like button so I could like this"

    Edit: Done

  21. I love the like button. Even just as a "I saw this" kind of thing.

  24. What, you don't wanna bust out emacs and make a local clone!?

  25. I should really write some sort of (morbid as fuck) will thing to figure out what happens to these sites if I die. Maybe put some money away to keep them running for a few years or something.
