Baseball has always been my sport but I'm really into women's soccer/football ever since the US team won the World Cup and I also love volleyball. Very excited for the Olympics this year. And for the upcoming MLB season.

 

Prestigious don't mean a thing unless you are a supporter.

Final post from me regarding the sports forum, as this is now turning into a proxy sports thread lol. I think and hope they will be a lot better on here going forward as we have a number of sensible early users who will be able to mould them in a certain way. Self moderation from early users of this site will go a long way to curating a better experience for all users.

 

Like football and enjoy baseball because of Steelers/Pirates/western PA.

Don't like hockey, though.

 

Ehh, some of the guys exclusive to the sports forum are super hard headed.

Thanks Jake! Let me know if you have any questions at all. I obsessed over trying to make the mobile site even better than AP. Like even just the menu slide out effect, I spent a good three days making it feel smoother and without as much of a tap delay as the one on AP.

 

Question: I'm interested in why you decided to go with the Chorus name instead of Encore (or going further back, making the podcast name Chorus). I had sort of expected that because of the name, you'd be working on that branding further in the future, and while I knew this was your blog, I'm surprised that was the direction you went in.

 

I can't remember but is assassiNATE signed up? Also, am I supposed to be ditching AP or what lol?

 

I'm not completely ditching AP yet, gotta have my sports threads being active as possible.

Thanks! I totally agree. I feel like it starts out easier, and then as you get to know it, and learn some of the little things or tricks it gets even better and easier to use.

I've long said that it never moved out of my dorm room. It makes me so mad to even think about all the crap that never got done or fixed or changed on that site over the past 5+ years. That was one of the big reasons I decided to even attempt this — because I knew I could make something better and I didn't want that to be the last and biggest thing I ever created or designed online. Hah.

Oh my god, I know, it's one of my favorite new features by far. The PM system on AP.net was stone age and horrible. I literally modeled it after MySpace when I wrote it the first time and it was kinda like an email system. It was so bad. I hated it every time I had to use it. And then here it's like a tiny little mini thread — you can have groups, which is just awesome, and I really think it can help with so many little things we haven't even thought of yet.

Holy shit, dude, thank you so much. Seriously. I wrote up a post last night in the supporter forum detailing just how much that means to me — thank you, seriously.

Apologies if this has already been brought up but @Jason Tate what's the plan for chorus.fm vs. absolutepunk? If this isn't the correct place for this discussion, feel free to delete and pm or something. I'm just curious if i need to be switching some bookmarks around.

 

I'm curious if the stuff will stay archived, or if I have to go scrambling to write down every rec in threads I keep going back to. Haha
