Who here has had their wisdom teeth removed? How many days of feeling like shit can one expect afterwards?

Yes, I got them taken out the day after Thanksgiving 2007. I was under direct order not to eat the day before, so I was not able to partake in eating. I went black friday shopping before I had them taken out, and I was a mess. They put me to sleep and I remember waking up all sore. It took a long time for the holes to heal and they made me use a syringe to inject water to remove all food that got up in there. That hurt like hell for weeks (but the ambient pain only lasted for a week or so).

That sounds awful haha. I didn't know they send you home with holes in your mouth. I thought they would use stitches or something.
I'm wondering if I should get it done now or wait until after my plans next week, but that might be too long. There's a nice chunk of cheek/gum that's constantly in between my back teeth right now and it's driving me crazy. The tooth in that area has been visible for quite some time.

 

Yeah, they sewed it back up, but there were small pockets that were left open. It was a pain.

 

I am so glad that I didn't have to have mine removed. That sounds so awful.

 

I feel like I'm going to be really out of place at this party I'm going to. I was asked to bring ping-pong balls. I'm just so over drinking games (and drinking in general).
