Watching Bridesmaids this drunken evening

 

Sometimes my mom says things and I don't know how to respond. Like she saw my bathroom and said "That's a showerhead! Yes... it is a showerhead. Or we were watching the local news and a very popular bridge was being shown and she was like "Ki, you've been on that bridge!" Like yes... I have been on that bridge. idk what to say to things like that besides and awkward "...yep" but I think she expects conversation

 

Parents. Amirite?

I know what you mean though. Haha, but I feel like this in normal conversation sometimes with other people. I was on the phone the other day and was asked a question and there was that awkward silence and I was like ... I don't know how how I'm supposed to answer this? Like ... trying to decide if it's a real question or a weird non sequitur.

 

About 87% of interactions with other teachers at work are like that for me. I mostly just try to sputter out some kind of cliche before the silence is long enough to make me seem awkward.

 

So it turned out my cold from yesterday was actually a sinus infection!!! Fun!!!! I sent Ben to get aleve and a large straw to put in my water bottle because it hurt too much to sit up and drink. Aleve is literally a miracle drug though? I slept till 4pm after taking it and now I feel like 85%.

 

This is probably in the top 5 lamest things I've said but a girl attacked me over the whole "tweets at Ronnie" thing last night and instead of just retaliating I tried to turn it around into a positive conversation, and it was a stubborn as hell process, but after a while I did and now we're talking about our everyday lives while also DMing about like what's wrong with what happened and how we can hold our role models more accountable and where the line is drawn between artist/art and all that, and it's just cool to know it is possible to turn complete blind hate into a productive conversation.

We're still not quite on the same page yet but the seeds have been planted for something like this to take place.

Right on. I tend to keep to myself so I didn't jump into that. I'm also faster to judge, unfortunately, and I'd have probably just written them off and made a snarky comment. Kudos on being nicer than me and actually having the conversation.

 

I'm tired and still a little buzzed.

Re-watching early seasons of Buffy. My musical opinions are soooooo different now than they were in HS.

 

Watching an episode of Daredevil but I might move on to Buffy as well soon

 

The only Buffy episode I've watched is the musical one.

 

24 hours later ... still coming in.

 

I convinced the GF she'd like this show and she's very happy with her binge watch at the moment. I think she thinks it's almost as good as Pet Sounds.
