I like Texas and can't stand Fort Hood at all so I understand haha.

 

I hate how everyone from Texas won't shut the fuck up about Texas.

You've said you miss certain things about Texas. You mainly just hate Ft Hood which i dont blame you for.

With you on that. I mean I get why people here do it but it's still annoying, especially the people who go overboard and everything in their life is dedicated to Texas and there can be no flaws in Texas. Wish I could move.

This will get long and rambly and I've mentioned it on AP before but I need to vent so apologies now!

When my brother in law was diagnosed with cancer his mom sent up a gofundme account. His parents keep accessing the money that's supposed to help my BIL and sister pay their bills. His parents use it to pay their expenses to visit them, even tho they are not struggling financially. They talked about using the $ to buy iPads to skype with my BIL and to pay to fly his brothers out to visit him, even tho they all have money. There's been a lot of local fundraisers and they recently got about $1200 in donations and his parents deposited it into THEIR savings instead of letting my sis have access to it. My BIL and sister have both lost their jobs due to all this and they're trying to raise my 2 year old nephew so idk wtf his parents are doing taking their money. My sis has confronted them but nothing ever changes. I never see his parents but next time I do I want to punch them in their faces.

 

Fun Fact: Texas Roadhouse is not headquartered or based in Texas.

@Kiana I feel like parents do this all the time. They raise money and they justify them spending it on frivolous things or not their intended purpose by saying it enables them to do stuff for them.

Not that similar but when of my neighbors got pregnant either during or shortly after she was in high school. Baby's dad had nothing to do with her and she was still living at home. I remember they would use her WIC all the time to buy shit for themselves when she was like 3 months pregnant. They were decent off but felt like it was owed to them.

 

That's why I don't donate to a lot of those things because I bet it's really common for things like that to happen. I'll donate to people I know but that's all.

Same here. I put myself on a fucking diet. Trying to be good. I hate myself.

 

Someone in my wife's family had a child die and someone started a gofundme to help them pay off some of their mortgage because they were behind. They just defaulted on it and instead used that as a down payment for another, better house. I didn't give any money but basically I was pisses because everyone gave them the money to save their house and it was like nope. Thanks for he down payment on something bigger.

They also very much live off the government so their lives are very subsidized.

The worst part is that it wasn't like a viral thing. The town all came together to donate, so they're taking money from like everyone they know. My sis told them "People think they're donating to him, not to his entire family" and their only response to her was "Well people have come up to me on the streets and said they won't donate to your online shopping addiction." Which, I do think my sis was using shopping as a way to cope cause she was up at the hospital (in a city unfamiliar to her where she knew nobody) all alone with no support system and was away from her kid, but she never used the donated money for that, and it's not like random locals would know her life and shopping habits, so obviously her mother-in-law has opinions on it and was being passive aggressive. idk it's all a mess.

 

Jesus that is awful :/ people suck sometimes (a lot of the time)
