It's called "King of the Hill" Walking Challenge that we track with fitbit or whatever fitness tracker you have. I missed the last one due to being out after a major operation. So I am very excited to do this.

See I don't run unless a crazy person is chasing me or a bee is near me.

People say they'll go out to lunch with me if I give them a days notice, but I go every Tuesday. They act surprised like I don't do it every week.

I'm one of those people where my only motivation is the guy behind me. lol. I'll lead a pack and not let anyone catch up. That was basically my Army career. I also love pacing people. I have a really good internal speedometer. You want to run a 16 minute two mile? I gotchu.

i won a few AP contests!! well, just one, I think, and I had to email Alex like six months after the fact cause i never got my prize haha but then i got extra stuff in it and it was sickkkk. also Purevolume used to be my stomping grounds, i remember the weirdest things about how that site's community was organized. it attracted a ton of scene kids so for a while i was sure that was what i wanted to be, i was so mad i didn't have naturally straight, black hair and skinny jeans

What'd you do in in the Army? My Army career was as long as I could still run a sub 40 minute 5 miler I'd be in the gym.

I wish I had went to OCS. Enlisted was such a joke. Then again, I can imagine being in charge of anything at 101 must've been pretty rough. I've seen how bad some of the joes at 1cav and 82nd were. I'm not sure I would have survived in a non-MI environment.

Everything is tough in its own way. I was never anywhere but Campbell so I have nothing to compare it to but I feel like it's all got its challenges.

It's funny how as soon as you touch down in Afghanistan all those guys know what unit you are.

I've only been out a couple months but I miss it in some ways. My responsibility is really low in my new job so I feel somewhat aimless right now.

I get winded after like two minutes of running. When I work out (which its been a while and I need to get back at it) I always start with 8 minutes on the treadmill before moving on to free weights, but those 8 minutes are hell

I was watching 30 Rock last night, and there's a point where Alec Baldwin's character says, "Not thinking is what makes America great."

and I just had to laugh.

I was at Huachuca for a year and loved it there and then Fort Hood for the rest of my time. I think I'm mostly just a Texas hater. Sry guys.

The funny thing about AFG was that I went there by myself. I had no idea who I was going to be with or what I'd be doing. When I got there, they couldn't even figure out who my orders were for. I lucked out getting the assignment I did though. I learned a ton of stuff and met a lot of crazy and good folks.

My job right now is the same. I spend more time here than on my projects. Whoops.
