I remember when we got to "leak" the first song and the website was featured on MTV News. One of the few things that finally had my friends and family not think I was crazy with what I was doing with my life. Haha.

 

I've always had this feeling about shit like that ... and maybe it's wrong, but ... anything that's online is downloadable, or rippable, all of it, it's just a matter of how "difficult" you make it. So I had a hard time ever making it super hard because if you knew one way to do it, you could definitely do it pretty much regardless.

 

I somehow didn't know about that? But I remember how thrown for a loop people were by that album. It was fun to watch people practically floundering over it.
Also, speaking of MTV and such, I wonder what Steven from Steven's Untitled Rock Show is up to these days

Yep, I totally agree. And I know you feel the same about advances, which I agree with too, if you really want to be the guy to leak something, you'll find a way

 

If this was an image there would be a zoom in on the word "middle school" right now.

 

Yep, the only way to "prevent" leaks IMO is to control who you send things to, not the way you distribute them.

 

I guess that twists the knife a bit on your recent birthday haha.
Do you still talk to a lot of former staff members? It would be cool to do a kind of "where are they now" thing when you phase out AP

 

I don't remember what brought me to ap. I just remember following the lurk news threads > post in news threads > lurk genforum > dip toes into genforum > try not to get eaten/don't take Slade too seriously pathway that seemed to kind of be the traditional way to getting into the forums.

Also I won a contest once. Got The Black Keys' Attack & Release on vinyl. One of my first LPs in what has become a pretty decent sized collection.

 

Quite a few actually, some not so much. Like, I definitely still talk to Jared. He might have an account here but I'm not sure, I invited him. Jake Wallace I keep in touch with. Quite a few like I don't talk to regularly but we keep up on Facebook and stuff. I wonder what Katie S. is doing now. Last I heard she was competing in like body building tournaments or something.

I still keep up with him! Haha, he's doing really well for himself. Do you follow him on Twitter?

 

One of the few I've hung out with in person multiple times. We got lost on the New York subway together.

 

I don't, but that's a good idea. I'm pretty new to twitter so it's not something i thought of.

Also, Christian is from the next town over and we actually had some mutual friends. He manages a kid I went to high school with now
