Here was a song from that album:

Some of the songs sounded more akin to their Silence/AABF days.

There was also this short lived Blindside side project, which I think only produced a couple songs?:

Mono vs Stereo used to give us advances of their artist's albums and I found an Evan Anthem CD the other day. From what I can tell they must have only put 2 albums out. I liked them as far as I can remember.

@Tim I thought that was cool. I'll check the rest out. I've always seen the singer with that dark black hair and he was looking kind of blonde there lol

Post grunge is just a euphemism for people who are too insecure to say they listened to nu metal. Haha

I still have some stuff from that era on my iPod. Three Sevendust records, 3 Finger Eleven records, a pair of Fuel albums, a Blindside album, a pair from Sinch.

Sold off or donated most of the others though.

I remember everyone saying that the members of A Perfect Circle were devil worshipers and I was going to hell because I liked that band a lot.

Oh I didn't even count A Perfect Circle as being in that genre. Their debut is still damn good

  7. I bet I could still get down to some Sevendust. Dude has a very cool voice and can write the hell out of a melody. They definitely had the best hooks out of any of these bands.

I had a dude tell me Red Hot Chili Peppers were devil worshipers. People really love to throw that term around.

Maynard Keenan might be the most awkward human being I've ever seen on stage. I was legit uncomfortable.

I feel about nu metal the way a lot of people feel about pop punk.

Where's my DEFEND NU METAL merch?

The scream-y stuff the drummer did hold up poorly, but it was barely tolerable then. But Lajon always had the best voice in that genre and they liked harmonies and actual memorable melodies a lot more than their contemporaries, so a lot of it still works.

Not to mention the grooves on Home are just nasty, no matter the era

  14. Yeah, the drummer vocals are a shame. I think the only full album of theirs I ever really listened to was Seasons, but I remember that having some jams.

The hard part to deal with now is how piss-poor the production is. They deliberately had the worst sounding vocals and muddiest guitars

Home, Animosity and Seasons are all good. Even then I didn't like anything else from them.

I don't know how I feel about this post. :pantherworried:

I mean, I wouldn't ACTUALLY "defend" nu metal, etc., per se, lol, but it's nostalgic dumb fun in the same way I think pop punk is. I just prefer what P.O.D. and Linkin Park did to a lot of the pop punk bands that the AP.net still goes to bat for, but that's probably just because I didn't spend significant time with pop punk until later in life.

Some are listed emojis when you post with "More Options," and others are hidden.
