Truly not great.

From what I have been hearing, the shit show last year wore Lyman down, which is good in my opinion. Smaller lineup means less chances for a scandal, but also that he's going to be held to reacting more quickly to anything that does come up. I see it as a good thing.

 

I like how when you block someone if removes their content from quoted posts. Makes it look like people are talking to themselves.

spent a solid half hour here looking through my mess of a pc for the tiniest folder with javascript files I wrote years ago. now to nuke this pc from orbit

 

"Stand and Feel Your Worth" popped up on my shuffle. It is hard to listen to Thrice when you know Dustin is probably a piece of shit.

 

Thrice may be my favorite band, so that may tinge my view, but that's a pretty harmful assumption for a person you don't know personally.

But then again, I've never understood the "this person believes x, so I can't enjoy their band" mentality. (Note: this is in reference to beliefs, not actions. "X is an abuser, so I can't listen to him" is something I totally understand and participate in. "X is a (insert religion/political party), so I can't listen to him" seems utterly dismissive and harmful for good conversation to institute change.)

 

I've been around AP long enough to know why you said about Dustin what you did. I know the events that went down at the church he worked at that you're probably referring to. I know that he doesn't talk about those events and that quite a few people have taken his silence as support of that cretin. (I also don't buy into silence is always support, but that seems incredibly prevalent in most public thought these days.)

I totally get all of that. But that dismissive of an answer is going to lead exactly to the type of atmosphere that has made AP so much more hostile than it used to be. If you don't want to talk about it, that's fine, just go ahead and say "I disagree with this, but I'd rather not talk about it." Boom. If you don't agree with me (as you obviously don't), it's quite okay. I just don't think it's good to establish an atmosphere where we can immediately dismiss something we agree with just because someone pushes back against a statement we've made.

I honestly was making an off-hand comment. I don't care to talk about Dustin Kensrue, because, aside from the point at which I typed that and clicked post, I don't think about him very much. I apologize for being dismissive of your perspective, I simply would rather just accept your post and move on.

 

I've listened to Thrice for so long and I still can't read anyone talking about Dustin without thinking they're talking about me. So this confused me beyond belief, I'm sitting here thinking "WHAT DID I DO?!"
