Had a minor incident resulting in today's practice being a bit bloodier than planned

 

What happened?

 

Was learning a Fall Out Boy song for some upcoming gigs (not even one of the really crazy ones drumming wise) and my finger got in the way of my stick and caused a little bit of a mess.

Without a shred of doubt, one of the worst feelings to endure when you hit your finger/hand while drumming. My basement is cold, so my hands can be cold while playing at times and when I accidentally hit myself I have to bite my lip to refrain from screaming.

 

I always knew you could go through and select songs that you want it to skip when shuffling, and when I noticed that not all the featuring tags appear the same and some bands had drastically wrong genres, I decided to go artist by artist and fix any featuring tags (my preferred is "Song Titled [feat. Guest Artist]"), genres, and marking which songs I don't want to come up on shuffle. This is gonna take forever, but March Madness/tennis is on.

 

50% is the pain and 50% is the shock of it. I hope it never happens on a gig because I'm definitely frozen for a good 30 seconds whenever I do it

My ex used to get some gnarly cuts from drumming and he got a splinter from a stick when it broke once. It was crazy. It's not you need stitches bad is it?

 

That'll wake you up in a hurry. I got my finger between my stick and snare rim one time and had some awesome bruising for a week or so afterwards. Surprisingly no blood on that one.
