I grew up in a household where I only listened to Christian music if that means anything?

I think we will be fine and have more control since we have been here longer. Its going to be like starting over for a lot of people so they better just chill and grow up at this point.

I cannot relate to "I haven't listened and don't plan to" even a little bit.

I mean, I'm not saying I will listen to everything before I die. But I'm at least theoretically interested in doing so.

It makes sense, haha. I guess I don't take the expression as literally or something, but some people probably mean it in a literal sense.

It's very rare that I hear something I assumed I wouldn't like and was wrong. Turnover was a big example of me being wrong though.

I have shitty taste in music and tend to stick with what I know. Obviously there are exceptions but I don't have nearly the time nor energy I once did to seek out new music.

I never listened to any doom or sludge metal recs because the words doom and sludge always turned me off.

i'm waiting for the special band that will come along and excite me as much as paramore did when i was 14. i think i'm eternally too jaded for something that great to ever happen to me again.

Sludge is great and honestly a great description of the tones. Just listen to Chelsea Wolfe because she blends it perfectly with folk(?) She's described on wiki as "drone-metal-art-folk". lol

I've only listened to Abyss once and liked it. I've listened to Pain Is Beauty a goo handful of times and love that album though. I've been slowly getting into sludge and doom bands. As far as sludge goes, Baroness and Torche have been the start for me. Great stuff. If you haven't listened to Baroness yet please do. Purple was one of the best albums I listened to last year. Or maybe it was just one of the best albums of last year.

Come to think about it. I'm not fond of the word "Metal" as a descriptor in music in general.

Chelsea Wolfe is good even if you don't like metal or sludge. Highly recommended.

Pain is Beauty is just wonderful. My jaw will hit the floor when she plays We Hit a Wall.

I didn't listen to nearly as much sludge this past year as I used to. If you like those albums, you'd probably dig the new Black Tusk. Baisley actually did a bunch of artwork for them.
