When I quit B&BW, I left a two week's notice but when the schedule was produced the last six days of the second week I wasn't scheduled. It was lovely. They got mad when I turned down shifts in those six days, though. My sales numbers were too good and my store manager got in trouble for letting me go and HR over ruled her trying to put me in the system as non-rehirable.

I have been working on a sample for a couple hours now trying to figure out if the results are fucked up. I have never seen anyone with a hematocrit this bad. I threw in a retic and this patient should be comatose or close to it. I released the results and called the DR since the results were critical and he said to look out for this patient to be admitted and he wants me to get more samples from him and test them again. (I have 0 time to do this but ok.)

I go to his room and he is the cutest, sweetest little man I've ever seen. He told me his DR wanted him to admit himself last Friday but he didn't want to spend the beautful weekend in the hospital. Same results on the tests and now he's being prepped for a major transfusion. His case has taken up almost my entire day.

I'm taking an early lunch. I'm tired and my brain is of no use for the rest of the day.

So we do happy hour on Thursdays in a pretty laxed town. This week it is going to suck. I just know people are going to be trashed and the cops will be out in full force. Meh.

I've been having a really difficult time staying motivated lately in and out of school. I just find myself feeling miserable most of the time. Idk what I want or am expecting as a response, but I've been feeling this way for a while now and I've either told some of my friends about it or don't feel like telling others.

I just wanted to say something about it because I'm just tired and pessimistic now about things and I've been really let down by my college experiences this semester and for all of last year and it's seeped into my personal life now. I can't take a semester off because my parents want me to keep going to finish my degree, or if I choose to drop out to learn a trade. I intend to remain in college as I've been a full-time student now for six years with only three semesters left after this one (hopefully).

But I don't feel very good about things. I've just been burnt out as a student and as a musician. I'm afraid I'm chasing a dead end going for Media Studies & Production in college right now. All I've ever felt really passionate about in my life is music. I want to work with music, whether it's as a musician, producer/engineer, reviewers, or somebody on the business side of things idk. I've always been open about it. Even doing audio/sound editing in TV, movies, or radio would seem enticing to me. I'm just afraid of potentially being unable to find a job (which I'm sure a lot of others feel about their majors as well).

Like I said, idk what I want or am expecting as a response, but I feel the urge to share because I'm upset and didn't know if anybody else felt the same way now or if they have before. And if they are, what they do/did to stay motivated.

I think a lot of people feel this way about many things. School, work. relationships, health.

I've had a lot of medical issues this past year and getting back into the swing of life and work, I find that I'm not motivated in a lot of things. I'm not motivated to get out of bed half the time, or go out with friends or even have the motivation to be super focused at work like I used to be. I know I'll get out of that funk once I have some tests done in May, but I feel ya. That Motivation will come back, but on your own time.

Motivation is a difficult thing to deal with. I always had problems with it. The thing I found to be a huge motivation was always the leadership/instructor being an asshole.

    That's a really weird sentence.

In college I never liked going to class or doing homework until I had a professor who straight up said '75% of you will fail this class.' I ended up being one of the only people to get an A. My other classes, I barely even went to.

In the Army, Drill Sergeants would constantly tell us to 'go the fuck home' if we couldn't cut it. That really only helped me push through. It also helped me be successful in my military career.

A lot of people want you to fail (which is fucking irrational) and for me, that is such a helpful thing.

None of this will help you. It was just something that dawned on me.

What is currently helping me is realizing every moment gives opportunity. You never know how one thing you do in class or one person you talk to in class could open up doors for you in music someday.

I'm struggling with it too for different reasons, but that's what's helping me get by.

I really hate work today. I'm sorry but waiting 10 minutes for your call to be answered is a lot better than the 90 minutes you would have to wait for any other company. We are busy, heaven forbid!

Alright, was afraid of that, but weird that I'm only doing it on this thread.

I'm on mobile and the unfollow button is right above "first unread post", so just dumb thumbs I guess

Pro Tip: If the thread you're trying to tap has unread posts, just tapping the thread title should take you to the first unread post. If you're all caught up on a thread then you'd have to use the shortcut menu to go to the last page/unread post.
